Drill for oil or not, the earths climate changes and has changed over the eons. The earth is 3.5 billion with a B years old (+/-) according to most scientists. The climate has swung significantly along the way. Glaciers and oceans have come and gone, temperatures have fluctuated dramatically. While I agree the pristine waters of the Bahamas deserve protection from all types of pollution, the climate will change regardless. In my opinion, far more damage to the Bahamian environment occurs from uncontrolled boating/yachting that routinely dumps human waste and trash directly into the sea.
Your concern about the impacts of oil drilling may have some basis for concern, but the fact is, the climate changes and has changed. It is part of nature.
We have heard from the alarming scientists before. Please note the date of the U.N. Disaster Report below.
In todays politically correct world of "virtuous do gooders", there remains two basic types of people.
Those who want to be left alone to pursue their destiny, restrained only by tradition and religion: and those whose identity revolves around compelling others to submit to their own manufactured vision of the good society.
Free speech and the ability to speak openly with a differing opinion is under attack. Academia, the news media and big tech routinely attempt to squash any voice that challenges the directive that demands "change".
When basic liberty is diminished we all suffer at the hands of tyranny.
Poor Sir Ronald, he omits that the US election has not yet been certified. He dismisses the rights of the current President to challenge via the legal system certain aspects of the election. The election is just a few weeks past and is not yet certified. Sir Ronald apparently fails to recall that it took 37 days for candidate Al Gore's election challenge to come to an end. The United States may very end up with a Biden/Harris administration in place. But not until the legal process is complete and the election has been officially certified.
Folks, we must begin to return to our daily routines and lives. Protect the vulnerable, accept some risk and move forward. Advances in medical research are making progress in the treatment of the virus that originated in China. We now know that a positive test is not a death sentence. Sadly, the "lockdown" syndrome is becoming more dangerous to the country and the citizens than the virus itself.
Free your selves. Your rights are being trampled on!! This Chinese virus is contagious, but we know protecting the most vulnerable around us is the answer. We can return to our way of life if we protect the vulnerable, accept some risk and understand that a positive test is not a death sentence.
Good ole Porcupine and Proudloud, they both advocate against the US. Yet they frequent it's shores, like what it has to offer and love the American dollar. Could be that they are just jealous haters. LOL!!
The truth of the matter is, the virus that originated in China is not going away. It is here to stay. Every country on the globe has been impacted. There might be a vaccine in the future that will negate some of the infection rate. But it is doubtful that it will eradicate the virus strain. We must learn to live with the risk and take steps to protect the vulnerable. Positive tests will continue and are not necessarily an indication of how things are going. Appropriate medical treatment and care can prevent an infected person from succumbing to the virus.
Ask our leaders to identify the metric or metrics that will allow the Country to return to normal. I suspect they will simply scratch their heads. The virus is here stay....the lock-downs must end....we must learn to live with it.

But, but, but wait.............the Chinese will come and save the day. Just ask Sir Ronald Sanders.
