If a patron has covid and comes into a restaurant with all the staff vaccinated, the the virus particles he leaves all around the place will not affect patrons who come in tomorrow.
If a patron has covid and comes into a restaurant with one staff unvaccinated, then the virus particles he leaves all around the place will effect every customer that comes in tomorrow.
This is probably the smartest viruses that has every been on this planet. It behaves in such a way as to encourage people to crave the vaccine and ignore any other potential assistance they might receive in any other way.
It might not be the most honorable, but it is definitely the most smartable virus ever to be - yessie King Salacie reigns supreme boi.

Appreciate the thought DDK, but I don't think this "thing" is about pharma companies making money. A higher objective (in their mind).

Why not force Bahamian workers to get tests every week for over $100? I mean, really, why not? They are only lowly dogs who get to ink their finger once every 5 years and in the meantime have no say in matters whatsoever. After inking finger, can only hope that someone monitors the ballot boxes. Party reps are not always ... AND Never-ending extension of emergency powers? Who cares? Who can care? Can we vote with our cellphones? Is there an app for that?

JokeyJack says...

Mr. Speaker, please hang in there. Please don't resign. If they make the move, then at least we can get some international headlines out of it. Someday some international agency will come to our aid, maybe when they are done with Somalia and Syria and Burma. Hopefully our country wont descend into slaughtering in the streets before they come. Unfortunately, that's usually how long they wait to help a country. Obvious signs of severe problems made apparent by the situation here simply do not appear on their radar. I fear thousands must die on the streets first, before anyone asks whether democracy is alive and well in the Bahamas. We still waiting on those ballot numbers to be removed right?

JokeyJack says...

So Mr. Smith, how many more decades must Bahamians wait? There always seems to be some kind of excuse or delay or process whereby our restrictions remain in place (occupancy permit), while they run free. On first principles, I think the whole idea of an occupancy permit is just stupid. It means if you own land and build a house on it, you cannot live in it - then what did you buy the land for? But that is a topic for another day. The issue today is why can certain foreigners come in here and run rampant over us? '

Rest assured, if a group of 500 persons from Australia came here and just started building houses in a large area in, say, Eleuthera, the authorities would be all over them. They would oughta here in a matter of days. Germans? Italians? Canadians? Persons from Barbados or Brazil? Can any of them come here and make "shanty towns" and build houses and just live and work? why not? The issue of racism has been bought up. It seems quite clear.

I'm still waiting on a response from the tourism ministry in Kenya to let me know that their entire population has been vaccinated against yellow fever, so that i can take a vacation there. So far I have received no response. I do not plan to get vaccinated against yellow fever to protect myself - but it would be helpful to me if everyone over there got vaccinated on my behalf. What is the hold up?

JokeyJack says...

The pleas were noted, what more do you want? LOL

"Fundamentally, I think the Speaker should be independent,” he said. “It is not presently set up that way, but fundamentally and philosophically, yes, I agree with the independence of the Speaker. My concern is how it plays out."

So he believes in democracy "philosophically" but it should not be fought for? Was he opposed to our independence? If government said no election next year due to the flu would he say we should just accept that too? The Speaker should be quiet?
