Hubert Minnis is a benchwarmer. He was never expected to hold onto the leadership for so long. The funny thing is that the longer he holds on, the worse things get for the fnm. Minnis fatigue is real. Can we have Loretta and Rentboy Rollins in the house? Everyone else is a waste of space. Oh it would also be good if the people's business was actually discussed instead of 3rd rate soap operas...
This is just not good enough. We must breathe in the carcinogenic smoke why? Why is there an improperly managed landfill in the middle of the island? Why should we accept this problem for another day? This is not business as usual. You cannot say the Fnm did nothing so I do nothing. We have to do better than this. Maybe we could hold a session of Parliament at the landfill, or better yet run a pipe and bring some of the smoke to them. What happened to the Bahamian proposal by a group of Bahamians to manage the landfil? Why must this plp gov in particular sell us out to the foreigner every time, instead of seeing the value of those people right in front of them? Oh yeah they can't get their kickback or own part of the company that way. Sickening, truly this level of greed and selfishness is killing The Bahamas. Wait for the mesothelioma cancer to take hold if these fires continue.
Hanging my head in shame at the reality of the problem that we are in. May the beautiful promise of life that was so stupidly snuffed out rest in peace. She is free of the future of suffering that was ahead of her in a land of no promise and opportunity. Can we hang our collective heads any lower? How many more of our sons and daughters have to perish on the way to or from school before we stop pretending that it is still business as usual? When will we try something new? Our broken down palace of a country is more broken down than palace...
China has nothing but time to sit on this disaster. We the Bahamian people will suffer, they don't care about any of us. If our credit rating is downgraded that makes things easier for them. I think their goal is to buy the Bahamas and have us use their currency. It has been long known that we are a Nation For Sale, especially when the PLP is in power. Credit rating downgraded, junk fire sale. Nassau is burning and it is not just the dump...
Bahamas, my God, the slaves were emancipated in 1834, women got the vote in 1962. 54 years later and women are not equal within our constitution. Much of the violence against women is perpetuated because women are not valued. Because of the decay in social fabric and the disintegration of the nuclear family, women are the head of the majority of households, will these women vote to stay unequal? I wish the educated populace would procreate faster. We are drowning in ignorance. The world is changing around us. Why are we behind the 8 ball with everything? Bahamas are we ready to throw another million dollars down the drain? I think that was the price tag of the referendum on gaming that was emphatically denied. No one trusts this PLP government. Have they given us even one reason to?
We are finally waking up to the reality of Chinese stir fry we find ourselves in. The oil is starting to catch fire too. Our only course of action is to buy Bahamian products, shop locally with Bahamian businesses and eat locally grown and produced food. The Chinese model is known for coming into communities with cheap food stores and restaurants and taking over the economy. They have done it in countless places, check Papua New Guinea. Beware of these "gifts". Everybody knows there is no such thing as a free lunch. Are we still recognising Taiwan at the UN?......... They don't care about the Bahamas. They don't believe in Bahamians. They are behind us in that line because we don't seem to believe in ourselves.
Minnis never had it. If he hasn't read the memo that the Bahamian people don't want him as PM maybe we should write it in the sky for him. The FNM will not win with him at the helm. Dr. Minnis please do the best thing for the country and have a voting convention asap. The Bahamas will surely die/implode with another 5 years of the PLP.
I haven't seen the Wire but I will make a point to. All of this has been said before. When the PLP won in 2012 I made my plans to leave Nassau, I told my loved ones that the country was over. This has been on the horizon for a long time. While I agree that it is the culmination of a breakdown in social fabric that stemmed from the drug heyday, I also cannot only blame the PLP. We are all at fault. The ones who have left for greener pastures and the ones who have stayed and rung their hands. We have all allowed this and not any of us have been able to shake the apathy or corruption and protest. No one likes the direction the bus is headed in but no one is shouting for the bus to stop.
No one wants NHI now. We don't understand it, there has been no consultation. We are still trying to come to terms with VAT. We are still trying to figure how much more VAT will be by the end of 2016. This failed government is trying to make something out of nothing. Blood out of a stone. A legacy out of thin air. If PGC wants his name on something, let's put it on every outside toilet in Farm Road. Soon it will be on the tombstone of The Bahamas. They have failed at everything so far, why give up now?
Really? Are you serious?? We should accept the anarchy as God's plan for The Bahamas and be pleased and praise him? God isn't pleased with our trajectory and I surely hope that he is not pleased with your attitude. Things are falling apart. The Human way should be to make it better.
