I believe we're seeing an abrupt end to the big man politics and a slow but steady death (not literal, for they're all quite old, not wishing death on any of them) of the "old heads" running the country. With so many political blogs, facebook groups, and forums for people to voice their own opinions, we're already seeing that intellectual evolution. One where people are constantly informing themselves and not waiting for some biased news media or PR team of a political party to do it.

The old era is being erased! The "educated, informed and critical populace, capable of seeing through political charlatans" that you speak of is already here and the numbers are growing!!

I was also questioning the Commissioner's remarks when I read them in the Guardian yesterday. I feel like saying serious crime is down by 6% is really irresponsible on his part...every day we hear about a new murder or rape...how is that possible? How do they calculate their statistics? Furthermore, down from what? Down from the same time last year? Down from May 7th? Down from when??

I recall this story being in the paper maybe 2 or so weeks ago. This is also published in the "Bahama Pundit" on July 2nd. When it was first published in the Tribune, Mr. Smith's name was underneath the title.
