That along with all the boat thefts, armed home invasions, decomposing bodies, and the Mud and the Peas/Illegal immigrants, is destroying Abaco, and the property value/living conditions...

This young man left Bimini as an artic-low was pushing through the Bahamas blowing a sustained 25 knots with gusts over 30 knots. There was a small craft advisory issued for the Northern and Central Bahamas. He was single handing a new boat (to him at least.) He didn't provide anyone with his route. Some family members seemed confused on whether he was going to Nassau, or Andros. Let this be a listen to Bahamian that believe they are 'men.' Take someone that has experience, let people know when you are going and exactly to where, don't go on a 21' old boat that you don't know (particularly single handing,) and don't go off shore out site of land when there is a small craft advisory. There were mega-yachts that waited for days after that weather passed through to head off shore... He posted a cell-phone facebook live as he was leaving. Surely someone in his family/in Bimini/on facebook, should have told him to get his ass back on land and wait out the weather... This was a very avoidable situation.

@John this is completely untrue. Many resources have been used searching for him.

First of all even if the Haitians in Abaco are legal, they are illegally squatting on land. The mud and the Peas needs to be investigated and that land must be reclaimed by the owner of it. There are hundreds of illegal shanty's on there. Crime is out of control and I am sure it does not help disease. Finally we have all seen what Cat 5 Hurricanes can do to displace people. The governement cannot allow these people to remain in these structures, esspecially no the illegal immigrants. When the Abaco's are hit with a strong Cat 5 there will be an extreme problem when the entire Hatian community is left homeless. It is simply unacceptable. Furthermore crime from these two particular Haitian communities has increased over the last several years. Thank you Dr. Minnis! Please go a step further and enforce the laws on these structures that are not built to code, before we have another Irma.

Finally! Please make sure Abaco, Exuma, and Grand Bahama are also cleared of illegal immigrants!!!!!!
