Sheeprunner1 you on the money. Besides if FNM decides to kick the 7 MPs out the party then guess what...the FNM will no longer be the official opposition, wouldn't have enough seats. Minnis would be leader of a party that isn't recognized as official opposition based on seats in parliament. Best he let them stay and he figure out his position.
Regardless of which party you align with (i'm still undecided)...we NEED a strong opposition. If these folks saying it isn't happening...then I hope they stepping up to make it happen right.
Sand Trap is the closest bar to the residential home for a lot of their employees. Makes sense they would issue this warning. It's literally walking distance from where their employees live.
The title is misleading. It would be better served to give some examples of such "challenges". E-learning courses were always available to AICPA members (and BICA Accountants); BICA is just facilitating another avenue to access them.
Minnis & McCartney have no power nor legal privilege when it comes to the Government making a current loan agreement with the banks...I was following your "re-post" until that line....so called "cartel of clearing banks" would be foolish to take on their promises (if such a thing even occurred)
Although I wouldnt call it stupid...I agree with you @justthefactsplease. Kemp echoes some very important points and the first comment is..."Bran isn't democratic"...really? We need to start thinking country first...the article was about the Bahamas being in shambles. Let's work on solutions .
Let your work speak for itself. I know the feeling you have way too well. Some folks find it easier to discredit or believe you've accomplished something by false pretenses when they see you're Bahamian-Male-Young-Successful.
Focus on your established goals, stay humble, and get the work done.

The penalties were stated clear as day more than a year ago (before VAT was even fully implemented). Why suggest it be revisited now, just because it's being put in practice? That push should have been done when the literature first came out.
Secondly, the deadlines for VAT filing are posted well in advance. There are even email reminders sent out. From reading this article, it appears Mr. D'Aguilar had issues with proper planning for a timely submission. Perhaps it's time to strengthen your team and find the right help. Being one of the individuals that had to pause during my Easter break to make sure I met the deadline, I don't share his sympathy.
However, the government really has done a piss poor job with providing rebates. That's a separate issue.
