The roof on the Auto-mechanics room at Central Eleuthera High School has leaked for over 10 years despite numerous clip board toting officials and the Minister of Education visiting. Nothing was ever done and when it rains there are puddles of water all over the classroom. Nobody cares, after al its"just Auto Mechanics".
"economic visitors" what a bloody joke. These tin pot politicians have no concept that potential investors have many places to invest and don't invest for the pleasure of the Bahamian Government. Mind you these politicians have their savings, property, shares and overseas bank accounts so why should they worry. . A total laughing stock in the world is what we are .
Whilst the Government set a new and unsustainable standard by paying redundant employees the decision to exclude expats staggers belief. Imagine if the situation was eversed, all hell would break loose with charges of discrimination and the usual whites oppressing the black worker All this added to our roving ambassador going on about insulting the "office" of the prime minister Disgraceful to say these things in public however your personal feeling.
The incompetence of Government officials and workers never ceases to amaze me. They have no concept of how to run ANY business entity. Just look at the national debt, much of that money squandered on useless schemes..
Fred , wake up ,this nation is a fly speck on the international circuit. If all the winter residents and investors left "fweddie" would not have a pot to piss in let alone all his expensive travel trips.
Why should we pay $200 for the continuing incompetence of the Bahamian Government and many of the employees who seem to forever be away from their desks, on vacation, having lunch or on sick leave. I have been waiting for my National Insurance pension for over 9 months after official retirement and this just illustrates the mind set of many government employees.
The writing is on the wall even though it will take a few years for Cuba to meet the demand. Why would you come on a cruise to Nassau only to find Bay street shut down after 5.30 pm notwithstanding the derelict shops at each end. Cuba has mountains, rivers, historical buildings, and history that will draw many of the impulse visitors to the Bahamas. By the way Cuba is cheaper than the Bahamas but not as cheap as people think.
