The tragedy is so many refuse to give blood because they are scared or have some other excuse. Yet these same people need to realise that they or a loved one could quite possibly need blood sometime in the future. What is also needed are more genuine donors who give not knowing who will receive it as opposed to those who will only give in the event of a close relative needing blood.
I hate to say it but when she was lying on her back and getting pregnant 6 times where in the hell did commonsense not kick in and ask :"hang on will this guy stay with me after he has had his fun". To many of these women and young girls either want a trophy baby or open their legs willingly to every tom dick and harry that says "I love you". Surely after baby 2 something should have nudged her brain cells ?
Ok Fred , how would you solve it ? 1. Give jobs to friends and political cronies ,in the G overnment where no real work existed. 2. Borrow more money and start fruitless projects like the worlds most expensive pile of curry in Central Eleuthera. .3 Borrow the money and spend it on travelling the world pretending to drum up investment.
I will say it again, it is only certain persons in certain public areas that get recognition. Time to recognize the true hero's who contribute to the practicalities of running the country. Examples being, BASRA, Paramedics, Police officers ,Cancer society workers. But this will never happen because despite local acknowledgement they are small fish. As for the church, more fighting and back biting goes on in church than most other places. I know who I would rather have in a medical or nautical emergency and it certainly isn't "an outstanding preacher".
Rarely are these awarded to the real hero's of the Bahamas, the first responders, the volunteers like RFH who raise money for cancer, the volunteer ambulance services on various islands, lifeboat crews and more. These awards are given because of who you know, contacts, personality, which important cocktail parties you attend, and political connections. My definition of a hero is a police officer tackling and armed thug, a lifeboat crew going out in rough seas, ambulance crew who save lives. These are the real hero's.
