Everybody seems to blame the politicians but the real lousy culprits are the BDF Commodore and supervising officers. Like Education and Medical all these managerial persons only shine on a sunny day, dressed up in public and having public praise heaped upon them,
Stop talking nonsense.Kalik has always been overpriced and the fact that it is cheaper in the USA than at home is typical of Bahamian rip off economics..
Excuses, excuses absolutely bloody disgrace. One excuse , shortage of gas-can you believe it? Instead of accepting that they did a lousy half hearted job the commodore should take responsibility and court marshall those involved, and a commission of enquiry should be held into all aspects, after all short of gas this time (which is beyond belief) could affect any future emergency if not corrected. What sort of officers do we have leading this force ?
Successive governments have this jungle bunny attitude where they spend every penny like a child with extra money in his pocket who spends it all , and never ever think ahead and invest before infrastructure becomes decrepit and outdated. How often have we seen government buildings/police accommodation fall into disrepair when all they needed was paint and maintenance before wood rotted or roof's leaked. The same applies to electricity generation. Just think if all the VAT money squandered by the previous government had been used to update the power plant, which would have brought power costs down and in itself brought about a more dynamic economy.
Water is to cheap and yes there are those on really hard times but many of those not paying have an expensive car outside, cell phones and expensive clothes.
Not one teacher amongst them, once again who you know. What about volunteers. I know of volunteer ambulance drivers who have served in excess of 25 years yet ignored.
So tell ud how much fed ex is paying in rent. The p.o. is a disgrace and always has been.Theft of magazines and periodicals by some staff and as for deivery times its a total joke. Leters bills sometimes 3 months late..
