How about taking a portion of Ministers, secretaries ,managers pensions who over the years have orchestrated this disgusting state of affairs to pay of the debts. It is typical of our culture to spend everything we have and put off paying debts and renewing old plant. Little advance planning goes into anything . And the joke is that these incompetents get away with it, no accountability. Non contributory pensions, unbelievably high overtime rates, excessive hirings , the long term ramifications were obvious to see from the outset but no "lets bury our heads in the sand and let future generations take financial pain".

Mr Miller , what utter bollocks. You know and I know that the privileged few were extended these terms and when you explain the hundreds if not thousands cut off for owing less than $200 then you might--just might be believed. So you huge unpaid electricity bill was you being "lenient to yourself" ?

I think all the regular contributors should get together for a beer one day-would be interesting. At least different opinions are expressed without resorting to insults and crude language.

Read the article "shortage of trained nurses". Firings and retirement do not equal all the hirings just before the. last election. At the end of the day any government has only so much money to distribute . Granted do not live in the past but learn from it.

Sorry but most solutions require cash and the question still is where does that cash come from in an almost bankrupt economy. Face facts and we are always told learn from history but it seems borrowing has always been the solution. The obvious solution is to dramatically increase nursing salaries, working conditions ,hours and easy access to further training but I say again how will this be paid for? That is not throwing in the towel but facing a very difficult situation .

I agree, but having learn't to fly on a 150 the payload is very small and there is no room power wise for any unexpected changes in weather or other emergencies. Nothing wrong with adventure but pushing the envelope added to the fact he really hadn't flown for sometime and did a quick refresher course only add to the risks not to say those of the persons searching. Anyway Ta since when did I become a communist (comrade)?

To compare Minnis with Mitchell is like compring Hitler to Winston Churchill. Funny how we demand our politicians instantly change direction and be proactive but then along comes lawyers who themselves often have little in the way of a moral compass.

You conveniently forget that the last incompetent government wasted all the money and borrowed even more so just where are the funds to retain these nurses to come from.
