So true. Several years ago my daughter smashed her elbow, she sat in a chair in A and E from 5 pm till midnight. Exactly the same scenario, "we will bring her a pain killer". By 10 pm no painkillers so after my umpteeth time to the nurses station a biggoty nurse got security to make me wait outside. Disgusting service and I hope that nurse it put in the same position one day. What makes it worse is watching doctors and nurses in their own little room chatting, laughing and generally ignoring patients.

There seems to be a total disconnect between saying you are a practising Christian , dressing up and going to church on a Sunday and the reality of the practical application of your beliefs on the part of some Bahamians. Yes put controls and the infrastructure in place to monitor who comes into the country but are we really unable to assist ?

This is an example of the disconnect between politicians here, the States, the UK and other countries whereby some enjoy perks of free medical and private insurance whist others like this child struggle. Whilst this young boys life hangs in the balance for a few dollars, others spend days in A and E waiting for a bed , or have to raise funds for for life saving surgery. Until some of these current and past politicians spend hours, and days in a crowded A and E in Nassau waiting for some form of treatment or a bed ,they will never understand.

That's not called for.

You have to laugh when persons like the ex prime minister say they were not aware of their unpaid debts but you can be sure that they were aware of whether their salary came in or not.

If you don't bank with them and cash a cheque on someone who has an account there the fee is beyond ridiculous.

I suppose Firzgerald trying to get all the contracts with Bahi Mar citing his fathers $20,000 a month medical bills has nothing to do with his greed. A disgusting individual and a disgrace as Minister of Education. What total hypocrisy that he would preach to school children about working hard for their future when he was doing his level best along with Maynard to grab all for himself. Good on you Mr Bannister.

Certainly any planning (or lack of) on the part of the last government was woeful to say the least. A simple analogy would be a father promising his son or daughter a brand new corvette for Christmas when he knows he has no money. National Health would be an example. Come visit Eleuthera if you want to see monumental waste of money and failure to plan. There is a mountain of curry excavated to provide a level area for the promised construction of a new hospital. I am told that tractors and trucks have been ripping a hill for months at huge cost and they are not near to starting the foundations. What a joke. Money better spent on new beds and facilities in Nassau where all serious medical cases will be sent anyway.
