Unions serve a purpose but were the ruin of the UK making demands and rules that destroyed the economy and businesses. Remember Arthur Scargill the UK coal miners leader. Lived the high life, free union home, salary and pension whilst he urged his members to strike and live in poverty Employers and workers should discuss matters but always realising that the object of any business is to make a profit. Something increasingly hard to do in todays climate. .

How come customs didn't chase him years ago ??

And what about Leslie Millers outstanding electricity bill and others. Time for ZNS to give equal air time so the FNM can reply to these comments. Yes he should have paid up to customs on time but is he a lone wolf-----bet not.

Has anybody noticed the total bias by the laughingly called "the peoples station" in showing lengthy speeches by PLP speaker like Bradley Roberts but not by FNM. Dictatorship is alive and well.

Funny after all these years of neglect that suddenly contracts are given to refurbish clinics.Could the upcoming election be the reason ?

Pindling did a lot of good but power went to his head and the drug trade flourished.

You have to cry about the logic of the powers that be when a huge area of land in central Eleuthera was purchased reportedly from an ex Minister and cleared at great expense yet main local clinic cannot get regular supplies of basic medications or equipment such as arm slings. Many people here actually believe that a hospital will be built but never consider what services a proper hospital should offer, such as x ray equipment, operating theatre, and the required qualified staff. Given that the MOH got rid of our resident doctor and cannot find a permanent replacement willing to come ,one wonders how hard it will be to staff a mini-hospital ?

I listened to the Pm last night on ZNS and whilst he makes some valid points I really wonder whether he is in touch with reality. Firstly I know many parents who have their kids educated in the USA and UK who advise them to stay away as there are no prospects here. Secondly by the partys own admission special consideration is given to PLP supporters and this manifests itself in student job placement, government positions and more. We have an education Minister and his upper echelons who implemented a school leaving diploma which is about as much use as a lump of wood to the vast majority of male students interested in a practical career. Finally does the PM know how soul destroying it is for students leaving school, facing the prospect of unemployment unless you are perceived to be of the ruling party, whilst their friends with parents who have political clout get all sorts of offers ?

Are the PLP going to erect large billboards showing the murder rate----Oh no that was before the last election.

What the FNM candidates need to talk about in these rally's are not impossible promises like opening a hospital in Palmetto Point, Eleuthera but matters that the simple electorate understand such as, Cost of electricity, reliable water supplies in the 21st century, lack of basic medication in the existing government clinic, high food costs, excessive taxation that is wasted,
roads that are falling into disrepair, freight costs that never go down, double taxation (gasoline to name but one) and so much more that needs addressing. Explain to the masses that if devaluation was to happen how that would affect us all from travel to another increase in the cost of living. Talk facts and figures.
