Are you advocating that we beg forgiveness and return to Dominion status as Bermuda or GC? Because if so, it is the first sensible thing I have read from you :)

A cynic might say that this article is proof that at least Mr. Krieger obviously does not bung journalists, unlike some other "investors" who come to mind and is therefore a more honest fellow.

All excellent ideas. Could it be that they are afraid that no one knows how to turn a computer on? Or even if they knew how, there will be no electricity to run it?

OldFort2012 says...

No, I had not heard of that. Maybe you should fill in this hole in Wikepedia's knowledge.

Not a Spaniard. Genovese, hence Italian. Big difference. Would be like calling you Haitian.

No. We have proved our worth to Britain over and over again: we are worthless. I can assure you than no benefit (or hindrance, for that matter) will accrue to the Bahamas. If there is anything to be had, it will all go Bermuda and GC, who have proved reliable over and over again.
Not even scraps for us. No more than we deserve.

I find all this hilarious.

Either the funding is available or it is not. If it is not, the project is doomed. In which case I don't see what upside Oban has in spending millions on EIAs and other feasibility studies.

If it is, that means that whoever is putting up the money is happy with the reputation risk associated with Peter Krieger and others. If they are, who cares what a bunch of rock dwellers write in comment sections or social media.

I mean, it's not like anyone is asking YOU to put up any money?!

I really don't understand.

How hard is it to get a Letter of Intent from a financial institution? It will reveal immediately whether there is financing in place or not. If there is, why should I care about some alleged SEC deal a decade ago?

If there is not, then I could not care less if you were Jesus Christ. You have no money and I have nothing to talk to you about.

I mean, it's Business 101.

No. Here is his quote: "He has lost his right, full stop."

You cannot lose a right you never had. He has no "right" to apply for citizenship. He can apply, just like I can apply to NASA to be an astronaut.
Since he has no right, the Government has no DUTY to consider his application.

OldFort2012 says...

I am sorry Mr. Symonette, but what you say just cannot be right in Law.

Someone born here legally, to parents with LEGAL status can apply for citizenship between 18th and 19th birthday. Then the government has a discretionary right to grant the application. That is clear.

Someone born here illegally to illegal immigrants with no status cannot have any rights whatsoever. To reside, work, be schooled. no rights whatsoever. Can he apply for things like citizenship? Sure. But Immigration has just as much right to deport him on sight.
