Not a witness, so I have no idea. But if this is reported correctly, this was no robbery. You go up to a guy, shoot him, then abandon the car within a few minutes. And you do all this in broad daylight, in front of many witnesses? In my humble opinion, this was an execution and probably a message to someone higher up. Basically: pay up or you are next.

"Their loitering at the doorway of the Privy Council could end in the door being shut in their faces, as has already been foreshadowed by one of its leading spokespersons who warned that it was time for them to depart."

If this is true, I don't see what need there is to advocate anything at all. It's not like there will be a choice.

I am always suspicious of any argument put forward by an obvious hypocrite. English Law is not good enough for you, but the English Knighthood you got from the Queen is just wonderful.
Oh, the poor slaves were treated so badly by the bad English, but I can't wait to get an Honour from them and call myself Sir....like them.

Yeah, pull the other one. It has bells on.

You can put it next to the dump. Then they could burn the rubbish and produce energy. Or they could burn down together. Which is more likely.

I don't understand how Haitians are "voters". Maybe he should start by explaining that simple point.

Nothing. In fact, it's almost guaranteed to happen.

But anything is better than being blacklisted and losing all correspondent banking relationships. Then we will have zero people employed in financial services, as there won't be any, and we will be back to transferring money in suitcases, like drug traffickers.

It's not like we have a choice here. Insignificant rocks in the middle of the ocean seldom do.

I fail to see what all the fuss is about. God alone knows how many Bahamian construction workers he has employed over the past 30 years. Probably more than Baha Mar. He wants groynes? Fine, that will be $1m each into the treasury coffers, per year. Or remove them.

You enlarged your property? Fine, you stole 3 acres of Crown Land? That will be $10m per acre. Pay up or return it.

Use your heads!

Well, given that the average wage for construction workers in China is well north of US$10,000, pus accommodation in Nassau, plus meals, plus transport across the globe, it would turn out that 2 bowls of rice are pretty damn expensive. Either that or the B$ should be trading for what it is really worth: about 10 cents US.
Mathematics is a bitch. You can't fool it with wishful thinking.

As a people, we must be hilarious to outsiders. When we go to the US looking for work, do we come up against 70:30 splits? Of course not. If we did, we would be the first to complain and probably call it racist.

But at home....different matter. We love to be "protected". Because we could not be bothered to learn. And compete.

While we still get a D-, we get the jobs we can cope with.
