I am not playing the what about ism game today. PLP or FNM no administration should venture into operating in the hotel industry. This will prove a disaster on so many levels. The government doesn't have the expertise or dollars. Imagine how many politicians will be hosting their sweethearts in rooms every night. I think the focus should be on reducing the cost of doing business in Grand Bahama that will ultimately lead to attracting the right investor.
Add in the requirement that RBDF officers must become fluent in Creole so they can communicate effectively and I think Fred will sign off on that. I am so fascinated how we allow our political biases to drive us to challenge everything an administration does. If this were the PLP in power TAL wouldn't have said a peep.
If Cat Island can only prove Brave enough to do what Centerville did to Shuffling Perry, we can finally put the old guard to rest. This sense of entitlement to power makes my blood crawl. Leadership should go to the most qualified in the party and surely he is not that person. If they are confident he is, the PLP is worse off than I assessed.
Typical high-powered attorney tactic. Exploit the law and create continuous delays until the government gets frustrated and bends to the will of law breakers. I hope the administration does follow through on its commitment. Enough is enough. Shanty town residents welcome to adulthood!
@hrysippus Witty, on point and satirical all rolled into one. You made many profound points in so few words. Enjoyed reading your response though it's a sad reality we endure.
As a fiscal conservative, I support this strategy 100%. Too much revenue air marked for rentals. This is a win all around. Construction jobs, contracts for building and maintenance and beyond the government owning the facilities they generate revenue by leasing some of the space. This is the level of thinking I expect from our political leaders.
