...Supt Butler said Bahamians are connecting more with Jamaicans and opting to grow marijuana in the Bahamas rather than take the chance of getting it from somewhere else and being caught by police... We are fighting an ideological battle that makes absolutely no sense! Just wasting time, resources and taxpayers money! So, what going to happen to we lil Bahamaland when Jamaica FULLY legalize Cannabis and all the states in the U.S.A have some form of legalization whether it,s medicinal or both recreational and medicinal? I'll just wait while our politicians 'consult' the 'Christian' Council and the Liquor industry lobbyist on this! What's that definition of insanity again?? Sound's like it time to invest in private prison in The Bahamas!

Very good Mr. Minister! very good statement! Now, an addition to that, you should add, because of the vulnerability in Tourism, and mass access to unfiltered information, globalization and fierce competition, we need to immediately create another less vulnerable and sustainable industry in The Bahamas! Also, the last paragraph about the history of crime fighting???? Hmmmm.

Sounds like the usual blatant hypocrisy in our Bahamaland to me! seriously, The VAT coordinator owes so much he's loosing his mansion, while expecting others who, some live in chicken coop to be current and pay their taxes? Yea, sound like good old Bahamian hypocrisy to me! Another example? No problem, Who was the major protesters against the gay cruise ship a few years ago, and is currently the fiercest 'Public' (notice I did say public) critic of the Bahamian LGBT movement? Have anyone heard what's been going on in Freeport lately? I rest my case. If you specialize in Hypocrisy The Bahamas Government and the 'Christian' Council a taking applications!

Sadly, in heavily indoctrinated, uneducated and uninformed societies, 'snake oil sellers' thrive! and this is quite common and should not really be a surprise. We sell our 'souls' and votes based on indoctrination and unfounded ideology on a regular basis! Sadly, many will "cut off the hand that feeds them" many times just because of this 'Council's' influence. IMHO, The 'Christian' Council is a racket, a sham! A MAJOR player in the back room deals and cronyism that is running rampant in our Bahamaland! Interestingly, They were invited to 'Bless' Bahamar, a place where gambling, liquor etc are all LEGAL but these are the same hypocrites who was just against Gambling/Number houses just the other day! I guess it's only 'good' when someone show them some attention and the potential to get their palms 'greased'? you know they love Vaseline! (Am just saying) This is almost like 'Religious Terrorism' and the religious agency that suppose to protect The Bahamian public was an accomplice! Biblically speaking it was not the 'sinners' who had close affiliation with the Government that called for Jesus's head on a platter, it was the 'politically connected Religious Leaders', it was the Sinner, Pilate a Political Leader at that time who said "I found no fault in this man". If EVER we need a 'Jesus' with a tam brine switch to whip these thieves out of the 'house of God' is now!

Just be REAL with these kids, not some unfounded ideology or 1990's Nancy Reagan era "Just Say No" crap! These kids are smarter than you are, no matter how many titles you have behind your name, their education comes unfiltered from the streets! Please do not just trash Cannabis, IMHO many MJ related crimes are the residual effect of prohibition, Talk about Alcohol, (which most of YOU use) is a drug, Prescription pills (which most of YOU use is a drug) be real, Prescription pills and Alcohol is reeking havoc on the Bahamian public just like the rest of the world for decades! Have people who speak THEIR language talk to them, not some 'suit and tie' on a paycheck, and definitely not the Police! Whether you like it or not kids can be hypocrites too, just like adults!

PastorTroy says...

This is insanity! Seriously, and we wonder why our country is always operating in a deficit? We're spending taxpayers money on nonsense! Borrowing other people's money whose intentions is not in our best interest. Realistically speaking, what can we do? seriously? Throw rock at them?. These politician don't need to feel the 'love' of the Bahamian majority, they need to feel the 'fear' of the Bahamian majority!

Question, so who 'owns' the boundaries and counties around the State of Colorado and Washington in the united states of america, where Cannabis is not only legal for medicinal use (along with about 20 other states) but also for recreational use??? Slice it anyway you like an orange is an orange, hypocrisy is hypocrisy!

I am sometimes 'in the middle of the road' when it come to Capital Punishment, simply because, let's be honest there are many behind the scenes factors that contribute to the many "guilty" and "confessions" we get in the Bahamas especially police beatings; However, THIS? is cold blooded murder! This 35 year old 'man' (if I can call him that) needs to pay with HIS life! Regardless of this 15 year old having disciplinary problems, people change on a daily basis, not to mention, really, she was still a kid! IMHO, Justice should be quick and the effects thereof should be long lasting!!

PastorTroy says...

Words SOUNDS good however, I've talked to many of my fellow Bahamians living in the U.S and other countries through our network that have applied to Bahamar, so far, NOT so good for them, I may have to throw off my robe for a dish washing position to support my 3 kids.

SMH, Why do they make this sham, this racket (council)feel like they are so relevant? seriously! all this crime going on in The Bahamas should't they be 'saving' some sinner? instead they touring 'Sodom & Gomorrah?' A place where fornication, gambling, idolatry, homosexuality..... Oh, nowwww I know why.
