IMHO, trying to "educate" Bahamians on homosexuality? personally I think will be very challenging. Majority of Bahamians 'claim' Christianity as their religion, it's written in the Bible that homosexuality is bad, our (Bahamas) constitution also make reference to "respect for christian values" along with other language about christian living. However, living in a nation where a good percentage of that majority are products of a seriously broken educational system and have been heavily indoctrinated that the bible in more important than education, I think the approach for the LGBT Activist should not be to make themselves different, but more like a we are all in this together when it come to creating educational programs for everyone.

While I personally do not know this lady or what her intention was, I applaud her for at least getting off her butt and doing something! That theory of trickle down economics even though it's generally B.S, the talk do not even exist in The Bahamas, to "fool" the masses "religious leaders" are being used to pacify the poor, while making "boatloads" of money hands over fist! Where is the "firewall" to protect the masses and hold our leaders accountable? cronyism is running rampant in our Bahamaland while meritocracy is on life support! Sadly, many "Religious leaders" have become an effective mouthpiece for political parties whose agenda should always be approached with caution. My fellow Bahamians, we need to march on Bay street the economic hub of the Bahamas and let the world know how your government treat you! Staying "over the hill" stressin' will not make it any better! Am sure you know that faith without works is dead by now! Though in my 40's I still consider myself as a young person, and I too are concerned even though am living miles away in another country. Trust me, it's not by choice, when you have spent so much money on educating yourself, and you do not have the correct surname or "hook up", when you do get motivated and pound the pavement only to be stonewalled by someone who is threatened by your accomplishment, it is downright frustrating to many Bahamians living abroad. We need a movement! Like the Arab Spring and other "springs" around the world, we as young people and the future of our nation need to educate one another, organize go to rawson square and DEMAND change! If you are sitting around waiting every 5 years to get a stale loaf of bread or stale crumbs to "give away" your vote? You deserve what you have! corruption!!

Seriously, look at our public education system, it absolutely sucks! well, that depends on who's looking. However, today, when I look at crime in the Bahamas, am not that disappointed like many others, I expected it, it's call cause and effect. People, especially the world renown and ever disenfranchised young black men are angry! They are fighting and killing each other and some innocents, but what we need is no more of the same! We need new YOUNG leaders who understand young people, risk takers, people who think outside the box, with a fond love of country first. but many of them are either in foreign countries or just frustrated! We (young Bahamians) are frustrated and have become collateral damage because of our Government and "Religious Leaders" parasitic & incestuous relationship fueled by greed and ideology! we have no more firewall!! We have a new, smarter generation of Bahamians who don't need the public education system to gain "knowledge" about "gettin money" legally or illegally! We live in an information age, I don't need to have contacts or have the required subjects to learn about or obtaining my individual objective. When obvious blatant corruption, back room deals and the same surnames who control the government and money from July 10th 1973, what does that say about our Bahamaland?

Dear Keith, Respectfully, I have refrain from calling you Reverend for now, simply because the word reverence (deep respect for someone or something. High esteem, high regard, great respect) is not something you give anyone regardless of their affiliation, association or even their conviction, it, in my opinion is EARNED, and that title only remains, until you have been proven otherwise. That said, whether you have engaged in homosexuality once, twice or fifty times what DOES matter is, you HAVE done it, while I understand that many in your position, just like your counterpart in Nassau, have mastered the art of "kissing and not telling" as an educated, hetrosexual male, I totally understand, simply because of your geographical location it will be considered as career suicide! However as a member of "The Body of Christ" (whatever that suppose to mean) do you ever consider the victims? While in this case it may/maynot be underage consensual sex, but when someone in your position in society, use your position and connections to annihilate someone who may very well be telling the truth, but cannot be proven simply because its your word (A Reverend) against theirs (A "Sissy", A homo, a sodomite) will you even consider the life you have just destroyed? Oh, I forgot they're not important, they are Sissies, they need to repent and "cum" in the "Body of Christ" and be healed. Am sure you are aware of a scripture about hell, fury, and woman scorned. Readers, let's be honest here, there is a 90% chance Keith will "get off" and be seen as a victim, by the ignorant, heavily indoctrinated masses and will continue business as usual, just like Eddie Long in Atlanta, Randy Fraser, and even the Catholic Church and many, many others! Organize Religion Today is a "new" form of slavery, it's a pyramid scheme! With churches on every corner, where is our (The Bahamas) middle class? we have the poor and then there's the rich, the only "legal" growing "middle class" are those who are stealing/tricking/ taking advantage of/pacifying the poor using religion, politics etc while rubbing elbows with the "ungodly" super rich! I love the rich, really I do, because to be or remain rich you must have a "By any means necessary" attitude, so when the rich use religious leader to to get what they want, I understand; but the religious leader should be a "firewall" to protect the weak and uninformed, however they (Some Religious Leaders) see this as stature like the real "uncle Toms" from slavery days. solution: Next time get VIDEO!

"The Body Of Christ"?????? Really? is living in our Bahamaland? The title "Followers Of Christ" I can understand, it can simply mean you're not perfect, but our trying, but to give yourselves such "spotless" "Unadulterated" name, yet don't know if, someone who share such name/title with you is, (according to your doctrine) committing "abominable acts" says a lot about these organized religion's hefty self appointed name/title. Now, just to be clear, I am not anti-religion, I am just disappointed to see where/what organized religion has become. IMHO, some think crime is because of the lack of religion, I beg to differ, respectfully, I personally think it's quite the opposite, it's the lack of trust and hypocrisy. We are now experiencing the residual effect of our ignorance. Listen, Just like Pastor Eddie Long in Atlanta, or The Hon. Rt. Rev. Doc. Bishop Randy Fraser and many, many, many others, sadly, many will still follow, regardless if they have been found guilty or not, sleeping with teenage boys or girls, as far as they (sheeps) are concerned they are a "men of god" everyone (including the victims) are just character assassins. Like Rev. Doc Patty "By their fruitiness ye shall know them" important: if you are reading this and was/is in a sexual relationship with or know one who is in a relationship with any of these so call "religious leaders" i encourage you to expose them! fellow bahamians i encourage you to support the victims regardless, whether you agree with their lifestyles or not. this hypocrisy have to stop!! When you cannot trust "religious leaders" with your kids, your spouse or not even yourself when faced with a difficult situation/circumstances, who the hell can you trust??? Get the hell out of politics lining your pockets for your own individual greed and get back to basics!

Tolerance, Tolerance, Tolerance! Respectfully, If these two distinguish gentlemen intentions are to prove to young men in The Bahamas, that disagreements does not have to end in violence and can be talked about sensibly then, it's good that they stop now while they're somewhat ahead. That said, personally I think both men arguement is right because of their personal experience and individual conviction/profession but for the love of god, stop this nonsense back and forth! We have a Progressive and a Conservative, great! BOTH, in a free country have a right to express their views! While I do somewhat understand Dr. Myles argument, that what Min. Mitchell said MAY not reflect the views of the majority of Bahamians, Question Dr. Myles, Does your view reflect the views of the majority of Bahamians? or even your congregation, I know there are some obvious or undercover LGBT member in your congregation! What REALLY breaks my heart is that there are so many other major problems right now plaguing Our Bahamaland, Guns, Teen Age Pregnancy, Physical/Sexual Abuse of Children/women, Liquor store on almost every corner, Dishonesty/Thiefing not to mention a large percentage of hypocrites who claim christianity and are given these heavy weight position/titles but whose life is totally the opposite of what they profess! Christianity is a Billion dollar business, yes, I did say Business and many so call leaders have FAILED the leadership test. Dr. Myles, my family and I listen to you on a regular basis here in the U.S, my wife (an American) only knows 1 Bahamian Pastor, YOU! it was HER who found your station online for us to listen to! But now, you are greatly tarnishing your reputation, what happen to not throwing your pearls before swines? Not that Min. Mitchell is a swine or a bad person, but obviously there are strong differences of opinion here! What happen to the scripture that said: ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ is that not for LGBT individuals too? Respectfully, IMHO, if BOTH of you distinguish leaders don't individually or get together and apologize to The Bahamian public for this "war of biggest ego/testosterone" it will be very unfortunate and heartbreaking for those who look up to BOTH of you Well Accomplished, Influential and Distinguish Leaders.

In conclusion, I do not expect you to run and embrace each and every LGBT member, slavery has been outlawed for years and based on what going on in the world you would think not the North won, but the South! Discrimination is bad!!!! When racist looks at you or not look at you because to them you're nothing? It hurts to the core of your soul!! i really dislike flamboyant gay men, really I do! but its not because they're gay, because i really dislike flamboyant heterosexual men and shallow, insecure women too, but that's their right to live the life that makes THEM happy, not you! you can't violate their rights just because you don't like it or it conflicts with your personal or religious beliefs! We as a people need to start thinking for ourselves, like Bob Marley sang about "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, none but our-self can free our minds". Let's use religion for the GOOD, how can religious leaders be so mixed up in politics and 'spiritually filled' individuals lives are still crumbling because of poverty? but Blessed are the poor right? because heaven is theirs when they die? seriously? so said the pastor with a bank account filled with their money living in a gated community, while they duck gunshot in the hood? when crime and murder is skyrocketing! When pastors are convicted of sexual crimes with overwhelming evidence and the church goes BROKE defending him as a "man of god" seriously bahamians???? this is worse that black magic in third world countries!! Can we as a people reason? even Jesus (whom many say they follow) instead of "rightfully" stoning the prostitute did what?? Seriously, even though, he said " wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise" did he not when at a wedding he evolved and made wine? was he not wise to do so? How about King Solomon Christians consider him to be the 'wisest' man that ever lived (I also happen to think so for different reasons obviously) had hundreds of wives and concubines? today he will be considered a PIMP! an Adulterer! whore monger! womanizer! etc, etc! extremist religion causes war! division, hate, discrimination... Is homosexuality worst than gluttony? Is being one who masturbates while having impure thoughts worse that Stealing? I most certainly understand the argument from those who profess Christianity as the reason why homosexuality is wrong, I really do, Not only did I grew up in a religious home but I also chose Religious studies a semester in college to learn not about the "feel good" platitudes but it's history. Based on what I've learned is that Special interest groups, corporations, political parties etc have been using religion as a very effective tool to divide and rule the masses. Do you know that the argument FOR slavery was based on the "Holy Scriptures"? Seriously, and in countries around the world and in small towns in America TODAY this indoctrination is still being preached. Being a heterosexual man, married with kids, I honestly do not understand what's so "good" about being Gay! to me personally it makes no sense, well, hypocritically when it comes to men that is, but guess what? I also do not understand someone we consider a "white" person thinking they are better than someone of a darker race either. I also do not understand how electricity works either, to think about it, 100's of years ago, everyone lived without electricity, if the government of The Bahamas was to turn off the electricity to every 'house of worship' in the Bahamas simple because during Jesus's days there was no electricity and religion should not evolve but remain the same yesterday, today and forever what will the "religious leader" think? Now, just to clarify, I am all for house of worship evolving to having electricity instead of burning sticks, but isn't that considered scientific invention? how about the prescription pills in our pharmacies? I love my Grandmother, but as religious as she was church 7 days a week, when she died it was in a hospital seeking to get "well" from scientific methods, not religious or christian methods. Seriously, when I hear just vile and ignorant statements about fellow Bahamians lifestyles, it really make me sick to my stomach, 99% of the time coming from descendants of former slaves, its an oxymoron, seriously. Did you know that Christianity was not even in pre colonialists Africa? It was "given" to 'us' while we was still in chains! Now, we (blacks) own it, we are now the Judge, Jury and Executioner.
