I don't disagree and I appreciate your response.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing to be gained by listening to the words of any PLP operative, let alone a failure of a "leader" such as Mitchel.
The utter nerve of this (man?) to speak disparagingly of the other political party which is nearly identical to the other worthless political party of this failed state of The Bahamas. Just by virtue of the fact that Mitchel is even in office suggests that this country has little to no future.
Like the US, we have no moral compass, a gang of thieves in political office and nothing but bullshite and lies coming from their mouths.
When Mitchel calls the FNM candidates a "buggy load of recycled rejects" what term could he possibly use for the present PLP administration that he is a member of?
A national (leader) who uses those words is an absolutely disgusting petulant little person who has not the intellect, temperament, nor maturity to lead anyone.
Mr Mitchell said: “The choice is clear - Prime Minister Davis and the PLP are working to create even more meaningful opportunities for Bahamians while Michael Pintard and his failed band of FNMs are shamelessly disorganized and desperate for power. We call on Bahamians to keep them out.”
Certainly, Bahamians can do better than what we've got.
None of these jokers deserve anything from The People.
They are all losers.

This administration cares about how much money they can get into their coffers quickly.
They have no understanding of economics, or business, it seems.
What this is doing is putting additional stress on local businesses, while government politicians who have no education in economics are killing the golden geese. Sure, the government gets those few extra dollars, but at what cost?
Any business person knows the value of repeat business and cultivating a welcoming tourist climate.
The issue, according to those who understand the issue, is the abruptness and rate of increase in these changes and fees.
Don't really need a super smart person to see this.
Just someone who cares about a long-term business strategy for The Bahamas.
Seems we have some really clueless people in the Prime Minister's office and in Parliament.

Porcupine says...

Mr. Morley,

Go to the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business report.
Find Real Estate Transactions.
Scroll down to The Bahamas.
Where is The Bahamas on this list?
What is the ranking?
And, you are looking at the Bahamian government and Inland Revenue to have a clue?
How many decades have we held our country back by being such losers on this issue?
We do not elevate our best and brightest to leadership positions in The Bahamas.
Is this current PLP administration and their strong-armed Department of Inland Revenue not proof enough for you?
Politics and nepotism trump competency every single time here.
We reap what we sow.
Now, what do we have to show the rest of the world?
A group of people fighting over land, with a government that is utterly clueless.
Yes, or no?

Porcupine says...

Ms. Wallace, we have:
A government that seems to do everything they can to make it harder and harder to do business in The Bahamas.
A workforce that, as a whole, lacks honesty, timeliness, education, customer service skills, and has poor attitudes and worse work ethics.
The high prices that we see here in The Bahamas are hugely more than the US, not because there is a corresponding shipping cost, and VAT, but because we have an adversarial government and the added costs of wholesale inefficiency, far too much theft and corruption, and very low worker productivity.
None of these things are arguable and have been pointed out over many years by people who can actually go beyond the degrading national politics and overwhelming lack of concern by those in charge here.
What we seem to have in this country is a large group of opportunists, untutored in the basic governing rules of business, as taught in nearly every university in the world.
This is not just criticism. I have spent decades starting and running a number of businesses.
The challenges we face here in The Bahamas to run a business are real, debilitating, and completely counterproductive to raising this country up from the economic crisis we are currently in.
Try this; Go to any Publix supermarket in Florida. Now, when you get home, step into any one of our food stores here in The Bahamas. If you can't see the difference, what more can I say? Talk to any person on the floor of either of these two stores. Now, compare prices.
Ms. Wallace, tell me I'm wrong.
Until we educate our people, raise the bar for honesty for our MPs and government officials, and radically change our negative attitudes, we will see nothing but accelerating failure.
A few years ago, we all witnessed what BahaMar could have become with a visionary, honest, and educated person at the helm. Mr. Izmirlian unquestionably had the best interests of this country at heart.
How did The Bahamas treat him?
Why would any decent business person ever want to do business here?
Seriously!

Porcupine says...

$30,000 would only cover a foreign dinner for the PM's office staff.
Judging by the looks of things, and people.
This is all talk anyway.
Anyone think this administration wants transparency?
Let's try this. Put every contract over $100,000 that this administration has awarded on the table and allow the citizens and auditors to go over them line by line.
Like any educated, honest and reasonable person would ask for.
We would have to start building more jails, if we had an honest judiciary.

Porcupine says...

Wow. Just wow. Birdie, nobody seems to be able to bring the nation's IQ down like you can.
Yeah, those "cry baby marine operators."
You are honestly one of the most stupid people to ever comment on this site.
If you truly represent a mere fraction of our population, God help us. Cause she's the only one who can.

Porcupine says...

Mr. brave davis, to The Tribune, "He accused Mr Pintard of misrepresenting his administration’s support for the creative economy and Bahamian artists. “I am using the word ‘lie’ intentionally because anyone who don’t tell the truth is a liar,” he declared.
My God. These jokey leaders have no shame, no morals.
Can it really, truly get any worse?

Porcupine says...

Would that convince you that trump is clueless and lawless. Probably not, hey?

Porcupine says...

Very good. Let's attack the truth teller and forget that we are being led by a gang of thieves.
One other comment.
Birdie, you are probably one of the most clueless people I have ever been witness to.
I have tried to find, over the years, some indication that you have a brain. I have failed.
