We are rushing towards populating every branch of government with the least educated and least mature people we can find. We have accomplished this throughout most of our country and are now lowering the bar, once again. And, so few seem to realize, or care, that our entire population is becoming more stupid, selfish, uninformed and callous as the day wears on.
Sadly, we have failed to put any type of cognitive requirements for Parliamentary office holders, such that the most ignorant, and incompetent people would not be at the helm of this country. Too late, we failed, as this article well points out.

Seemingly, there is no good news. Mr. Walkers cognitive abilities have been on display for many years. Few seemed interested. China will play him like a bouncy ball.
At some point, it seems important to realize that most every Bahamian is somewhat compromised by the sordid political situation here. Whether it is our media editors or environmental stewards. As the police often bring in non local police to the Family Islands so that they are not unduly influenced by their many relatives, so too do we need to bring in some people from outside who have no ties to the political and family system in place. I often thought BNT suffered from this myopia.
Same as many Bahamian businesses. Partnership. If we only allowed Bahamians to own and operate businesses, where would we be now? Are our educational outcomes a secret? Don't need education to be a business person? What part of the brain drain do we not understand? How much is actually required, in cash, to become Bahamian? Ask the Haitians, yes?
The history books show that many, many businesses here in The Bahamas were fronts for organized crime and the CIA. Lately, some are fronts for Bahamian politicians. Many fortunes have been made here, Only a few honestly and legally. Reasonable, honest and savvy business people stay well away from these shores. And, for obvious and good reasons. Not popular, but true.
