We have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that Capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant work ethic of hard work and sacrifices. Capitalism was build on the exploitation of black slaves and continues to thrive on the exploitation of the poor, both black and white, here and abroad." Martin Luther King Jr.
It is important to keep these true messages from our people. Otherwise, we may have a 10% income tax on our wealthiest. And, our political leaders and financial geniuses may be exposed for the charlatans they truly are.
Tribune headline reads, "Gov’t ‘disagrees’ on IMF’s ‘top 10%’ income taxation" Perhaps the government should do a referendum to see what Bahamian citizens think. I suspect that in a functioning democracy a referendum would be appropriate. Greed has overcome our minds and thoroughly taken over our politics. A sad state for a country that calls itself Christian. Are there any Christians in government in this country? Seriously.
Is it not clear who Mr. Wilson wqrks for? is it not clear who owns this country? Is it not clear that there is no transparency, justice, morality, fairness or honesty present among ANY of our leaders?
But, stay focused on this issue, such that we can continue to keep this nation in the dark ages. Do we need any more proof that our educational system has failed?
It was a way to pacify people who had to deal with a ridiculous mentality, such as yours. War is stupid. And, those who support it are the like. Who are you, or any government capable of legislating to any of us when your research is so flawed and your actions so corrupted?
Winners don't need excuses. It seems all our government does is to make excuses for really, really poor performance. Most government employees, and politicians here, could never work for a properly functioning organization or business anywhere. Not because they are not capable. But because they have never had to perform up to a reasonable standard. This is a nationwide problem. A wonderful idea to give the criminals at the top more power. This is part of the plan to consolidate more power at the top. The very top who are the root of the problem. We know where the fish starts to rot from. Those who are at the top of our society are the ones we need to worry about. Giving them more power and agency will only makes things worse. We want a quick fix to a problem that has been brewing for decades now. It is the political class, the police force, the financial leaders and the pastors who have led us down this road. Are they not the worst criminals? And, an educational system that guarantees that we do not possess the sense to see this clearly.
