PM Davis says, “So, it has nothing to do with our reputation or what we do. When you have bad actors, you have a regime to be able to identify them and get them out and we have that regime in place and so you don’t blame the jurisdiction, you blame the bad actors and we are ferreting out the bad actors.”

Why do we attract so many bad actors, welcoming them in like old friends?, I ask.

The true failures in our country have nothing to do with foreign bad actors, and absolutely everything to do with Bahamian bad actors. We ain't doing very well at ferreting them out, are we?
We keep electing them every 5 years, wondering why murder rates are skyrocketing, other crime increasing, poverty increasing, infrastructure crumbling, water going off, traffic fatalities up, and the list goes on, doesn't it?

Isn't it rather clear that the ferreting starts here at home first?

Is this not common sense and rather apparent?

What wonderful, transparent people we have working in the best interest of Bahamians.
Just wait for FTX revelations to come out. Hopefully it will not take as long to find out the truth.
Were the pirates ever really expelled?

Porcupine says...

Freedom is a thing of the past.
We are now powerless.
We have turned over the power to those who do not care about anything but themselves.
Our unflattering ignorance has allowed it to happen, and for it to continue.
We have helped enslave ourselves. Keep voting PLP and FNM, and expecting something different? Just more greed and dishonesty. And, we keep falling for it.

Porcupine says...

In business, we call this "opportunity costs".
All of our efforts, attention and money goes into sorry episodes like this.
With all of our serious, serious problems in this country, this is what we focus on.
We are a tabloid country, unable to move forward.
Superstition, ignorance and sordid politics rule the day.
Does any trend in our country look good right now?
Any?
Does anyone believe that the pirates were ever expelled?

Was this an editorial?
I think it is simply a news story.
Nothing new. No insights. No opinion.
Just my opinion.

I agree it will be interesting to see the names.
Did it suggest what they did was illegal? Do you know so?
Would you try and get your money back, given the chance?

No talk about rising interest rates.
No talk about a global recession.
No talk about inflation.
Only their chosen numbers and words like "subdued" to obfuscate the realities swirling around us.
If you look at it another way, it is the Bahamas government vs. the Bahamian public.
They're winning people.
A New Day it is.

So, next election it will be FNM again.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.
This will keep our papers busy for the next year, or so.
An interesting year ahead, yes?

Sorry Mr. Davis & Mr. Pinder, these guys will eat your lunch.
Even if they are not right, they still have the power to crush us.
This is David vs. Goliath. David's rarely win in the real world.
There is a back story that will not become evident until later.
This is not about the US vs. The Bahamas.
It is bigger than that. We don't have the monetary or intellectual resources the US has.
to fight this battle. It could be a war of attrition, but I don't think it will go that far.
I think there is a lot the Bahamian government isn't telling us.

Porcupine says...

If there is a better example of why our country cannot move forward, show me?
Instead of visionaries, we have this from the PLP and FNM.
The Bahamian people are simply pawns in their power plays.
Do we really get what we deserve?
