We are on our way to a global depression, not a recession, deep or otherwise..
The US will be creating trillions of dollars, out of thin air, over the coming months.
The Bahamas is unable to do this.
The implications of the economic fallout on, and the consequences for the Bahamas could be speculated upon each and every day now with the game changing daily.
First, we need to be intelligent about this corona virus, and save as many lives, and as much suffering as possible.
Second, we need to figure out how to minimize the suffering of the greatest number of Bahamians.
John Rolle must be one of the most scared people in the country right now, knowing the implications of the new numbers and the continuing downward trends on the likelihood of avoiding a near calamitous collapse of Bahamian society.
We will be shifting towards a more Christian, and socialist country if the vast majority of Bahamians are to survive. Yes, merely survive.

The curfew will accomplish what? Does the virus become more contagious after dark?
Non compliance is a cultural phenomenon. it is evident everywhere. The law is made for someone else. Nassau roads bear this out. It is the "me first" attitude which rules this country. I suspect there will be consequences in the coming weeks ahead.

Hey Kevin,
It's called living up to your word. Something that seems beyond you.
Perhaps it would be better if all of Freeport was given to the cruise lines. That way you wouldn't even have to bother with thinking for yourself. Just listen to the bosses. There are many reasons why Freeport is in the shape it is in. And, I'm absolutely sure it is all other people's fault. As it always is. Kevin, are you drinking the water in Freeport?
I am simply looking for a cause of your increasingly illogical arguments and your messages from above. I seriously think you need help, or find out what is causing your condition. Was it the trauma of Dorian? Are there voices in your head?
Maybe China could just have Freeport as a payment for all their good deeds for the rest of Bahamians. The greater good, right Kevin?

"That would change a lot of dynamics. If we have to have a total shutdown of the economy, that’s a whole new dynamic..."
Well, that's what has happened. The new dynamic is here.

Now we see the danger of allowing people in office with authoritarian tendencies.
Why are we always a bit late to important functions?

Porcupine says...

We already knew that testing wasn't available to us on Andros.
Would this be a surprise to us? Hardly.
We have a shoddy "temporary" clinic.
We have no doctor.
Why would we expect special treatment now?
How will suspected cases get to Nassau? Mailboat, or very small confined airplane?
Who will pay, again, for another trip to Nassau?
No Dr. Sands, some questions don't need to be answered.
We have been told, year after year, in no uncertain terms that we do not count, living in the Family Islands.
We do not even have the resources in Nassau for civilized living, we don't expect it out here, where many in government don't even acknowledge our existence.

I will agree with that.

They are struggling with the loss of revenue.
What god gave them in faith, he subtracted an equal part of their thinking.
What part about how this virus is transmitted did they miss?

Porcupine says...

Kevin,
Seek help.
Ask your family and friends to read what you write.
They may, should intervene on your behalf.
Sandilands is free for those who qualify.
There is no message here Kevin, except the one you hear in your head.
And, it is likely that there is no god.

I think it is "trained" her, not "terrain" her.
I think it is "down pat", not down packed.
I think it should be, "the judges "loved" her.
I think it should be, she got a first, two "seconds"......
Genetics hey?
Lot of mistakes for a short article.
Congratulations on your wins.
Sorry I missed it, so many bikini girls.
