Since Sir Etienne too was a colored man, this perspective is an interesting one. The story would cause one to believe he was a white man though he was mulatto (mixed).

If you don't know whether he is a good leader or not, then he is not (unless you don't live here or do live here but pay no attention to your nation). Sound leadership is undeniable; we generally know it when we see it, feel it and encounter it. If you cant tell, then there is likely nothing to tell.

For those who now talk about the rigged convention the FNM had, I have a question. Since many of you knew all along what the convention would be about and you knew all along that it was being rigged, why did you just sit there and not raise hell until something changed? Why sit and wait for something to happen and then afterward complain that what happened should never have happened? What you claim cuts to the very heart of what you say your party was founded upon. If you didn't feel strongly enough about it to fight for it, then what sympathy do you want from the public now, particularly since you are here to serve and not the other way around. You all are collectively responsible in varying degrees for where you find yourselves today. This is the reality of personal responsibility that Bahamians seem to hate more than most things. Every day you are writing all these anonymous letters hoping to pave the way for persons who do not even want to walk on that pathway anymore. Where were these letters when the convention, as you say, was being stacked in an historically corrupt manner? Where were your anonymous leaks to your favorite reporters when this was taking place? This is the collective shame of the FNM. Go and fix what you enabled, don't come crying to us now thinking we are going to help you sort out your own messes. We have enough messes in this country to focus on that we have different degrees of control over, if any at all.

The FNM's chairman has got to be one of the more moronic individuals to have held that office in his party. There is no such thing as a convention without voting. That is not a political party convention, that is a rally. Has their chairman ever read his party's constitution or does he even understand what the purpose of a convention is for political parties? You have got to be a special kind of imbecile to be able to make oneself look more inept than the PLP insofar as party politics is concerned, though in truth, the PLP actually handles its politics quite well - it is governance that they are a bloody disaster at. These antics by the FNM are among the reasons that voter apathy is so high and voter registration at this stage, is so low. These parties are obsessed with self and the people and nation could rot in hell for all they care.

Minnis certainly is not ready - and the FNM chose him. So what does that say about the FNM? If the FNM knew this about him, then why did its delegates vote for him by such a large margin? I see persons who say Minnis bribed delegates, and they say that so as to suggest that this makes him illegitimate. Actually what it makes the FNM is corrupt, because if he was able to pay hundreds of people to vote for him, then that means that there is zero difference between that grouping and the PLP.

The FNM is doing everything in its power to ensure the PLP wins again, and for this they are worthy of the highest and deepest disdain.

Can we have a new alternative government please, because it is curtains and lights on this once halfway decent organization known as the FNM.

Actually alot are not getting registered to vote in fact. Voter registration is historically low for this period.
