Cable & Wireless should never have been chosen in this privatization bid. It is not as if their reputation had not preceded them. Would have been more comfortable with Digicel if privatization was being insisted upon. But I know, I know - they would not have been seen as "good enough", if those who understand the mindset of our leaders, understand what I'm saying.

What a surprise, the government now wants to get a hotel out of China's hands because it is not interested in, nor skilled in Caribbean tourism..... Nassau, you're next!

Why is Pintard so ignorant? What difference does it make what pissed this degenerate off? His behavior is worthy of termination and is not befitting the office, period. Did Pintard or someone close to him make a statement about Wilson's knighthood? Because it seems this is what is behind his asking Brown to state which commentary specifically pissed him off, as though that has anything to do with anything at all. And why is he asking Brown to list all the things he loves about Wilson so as to "make a case"? That has got to be one of the stupidest, fruity pebbles questions and responses that could be given to something like this. No one can make a case for a recommendation to the Queen that can only be made by the Prime Minister. And it would not be appropriate for Brown, in his position, to do so in any event - yet Pintard is calling on him to do something he is not supposed to be doing. These politicians have got to be getting paid somewhere for remaining so dedicated to the business of dumbing-down the populace.

Right. Can you give us any information on the work you are doing that we might be able to support?

Publius says...

ha!

Publius says...

That is because too many Bahamians, from the political class to all other classes, believe that such a thing is all we are worth, and that we should "be grateful the man give us one job"

Right, but that's not the question Chipman asked. He didnt ask if the government knows how many Chinese are actually down there, he asked if the government knows how many work permits the Cabinet approved. That's what I meant when I asked if Chipman was serious. Ofcourse the Cabinet knows how much work permits it approved. The question ought to have been how many were approved, and then how many people are actually there over and above what was approved.

Anyone notice that not a single opposition member has properly called for the elimination and reduction of customs duties and the reduction of other critical fees due to all this boasting about hundreds of millions of dollars in VAT above budgeted estimates? And by properly called, I don't mean mouthing a general call in a press release, but actually showing from the budget where these cuts could take place and how it would balance out revenue vs expenditure estimates.

> st anne’s mp Hubert Chipman yesterday questioned whether the Christie administration was aware of the number of work permits it issued to foreigner labourers currently employed at The Pointe

Is this a serious question?

That jitney ride stunt was really a disgraceful stunt indeed; shows exactly how he and other politicians see who they consider to be "the poor man"
