So here it is **"These things just happen sometimes"** and that is okay.
BTC outage and URCA insisting that BTC pay compensation.
Why the difference? It can't be foreign ownership as BTC is now Bahamian controlled and the government reaps huge dividends, so it must be that Mr Miller and the government are not responsible for supplying a reliable level of service to the Bahamian public.

It is not just MPs and wealthy Bahamians that owe their property taxes. There are many expats condo owners who are unaware that they even have to pay property tax, assuming that the monthly condo fees look after that for them. After all there is no one chasing them for payment so those that are aware realise or have lawyers who advise them that they will have to be taken to a high court for the tax to be recovered and that will take several years in the current court system.

What has blue illusions got to worry about if all the permits and permissions are in place. Either they are or they are not!
The name of the company is not exactly confidence inspiring and the fact that if you Google Samir Andrawos there appear to be some conflicting reports as to his previous business dealings which might investigation worth while.
Good luck to ReEarth at least we can only hope that, after a Judicial Review, we will find what has been allowed to happen.

None of you seem to remember the service that we had prior to the sale! Coverage is better and the speed is great. People have incredibly short memories!

Of course Bahamas could use the same system as many other countries do. Here is an extract from the Jamaican regulations for carrying permits......
Production of work permit.
6. (1) Every work permit shall be kept by the person to whom it is issued, who shall at all times produce the permit to an authorized person or a constable on demand, or within three days after such demand at such police station as may be specified by the person first-mentioned at the time of the demand......
Many other countries give a person 2-3 days to produce the requested documents (driving licenses, insurance certificates or passports) rather that throwing them into clink and having a third person bring the documents for inspection.

I have had both a residents permit and a work permit here in the Bahamas and I have never received any documentation that advised me to carry the permits with me. I used to take a copy of the permit with me to work, but was told that even though I was concerned about the possibility of being mugged and losing the permit, a copy was not good enough. I have since scanned through the on line documents referring to immigration and permits and there is no reference that I can find to say that permits have to be carried at all times. Maybe there is some detail missing from the story.

No. in 2012 UNDODC list we finished 11th in the world behind the peace loving countries of Honduras and El Salvador! Check this link if you doubt it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co….
Now look further down the list and 67 places below the Bahamas are our cousins in Turks and Caicos! Three murders giving 8.7/100.00.
Any variances in these figures are usually due to the country officials not reporting all the incidents.
How does 2013 stack up. Looking at the tables, you are wrong we are close to the top and should realise it!
