The willful suppression from the public of reports and information about the serious health consequences of this particular matter has no doubt greatly contributed to many Bahamians in the Marathon area being exposed to the toxic cancer-causing chemicals for a much longer period then they might otherwise have been. Many families in the Marathon area resort to drinking well water because Water & Sewerage often cannot provide the reliable source of potable water they require and they are unable, in these hard economic times, to afford buying bottled water. These are well known facts. What has been allowed to happened here to the health and well-being of so many Bahamians, and to their property values, is, well... simply unconscionable and beyond comprehension! Does our AG have a conscience? As for Christie, we have him promising new legislation and a costly new government department as if the matter is not already well addressed by existing laws and regulations. No Mr. Christie, we just need for you and your government to enforce our existing well established laws as they relate to this matter....please, no more rambling political excuses and shuffling delay... just do what you swore to uphold and do as PM for all Bahamians.

And let's not forget that the Chairman of our Public Hospital Authority is none other than Frank Smith who happens to be the son-in-law of Franky Wilson, aka "Snake." How ironic, Snake poisoning us and Smith responsible for our primary health facility!

The Queen through our Governor-General (Mrs. Poodling, as you affectionately refer to her as) should be calling for the resignation of the Attorney General, Allyson Maynard-Gibson. But don't hold your breath for known tax dodgers to do the right thing!

Now all can fully understand and appreciate the steadfast intransigence of Perry Christie and Allyson Maynard-Gibson when it comes to enacting an effective and much needed Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA).

On Tests to begin on residents

IAAF Officials required a functioning power redundancy plan for the event. If only our incompetent Christie-led government and BEC could do the same for our country!

For decades to come, hundreds and hundreds of residents of Marathon Estates who have been wrongfully exposed to the proven toxic cancer causing agents found in gasoline will experience a significantly increased incidence of fatal cancers of one kind or another within their families. The resulting death toll should properly be laid at the door steps of our PM and the Attorney-General he appointed, namely Allyson Maynard-Gibson.

Reality_Check says...

LOL. In other words, Maynard-Gibson has told Christie and his merry bandits that they have the right to 'plead the 5th' by not addressing the need for a Freedom Of Information Act.

I seriously doubt the USA would make such a commitment in any agreement with the Bahamas. In any event, such a clause would not stop the NSA from continuing to record all of our email and other text messages? Truth be told, the U.S. Government has always reluctantly indulged, but has never respected, anything said or done by freddy boy.

Let's just hope the U.S. Supreme Court in its attempt to appease the gay community's desire for same-sex marriages does not inadvertently open the door to polygamy, polygyny and fraternal and non-fraternal polyandry, etc. .....all which are all too frightening and would have serious detrimental consequences for any society.

has anyone noticed the deafening silence of christie on the inability of bec to provide all of us with a reliable supply of electricity at reasonable cost?
this is the single most important matter threatening the economy and national security interests of our country and has been so for years now.
the imf, moody's, s&p, etc. will all soon be changing their estimates of our country's gdp and dismal prospects for reigning in our national debt as a result of our electricity crisis, with the strong possibility of investment downgrades to logically follow.
businesses have been ravaged by fee and tax increases of one kind or another and now most business owners are also struggling to keep their doors open against the backdrop of very costly and persistent electrical outages.
christie has wrongfully preoccupied himself and his government with other matters of much less significance to the well-being of our country and the lives of most hardworking honest bahamians, e.g. the 'illegal' web shops, same-sex marriage, carnival, etc., etc.
christie, and christie alone, has driven our nation to the brink.
never before has a single bahamian caused more harm to our country!
this is the legacy of christie!
