A lot of words to simply say: "You can't be an effective leader without iron clad balls and the ability to hold a firm upright stick!"

It's not "Legal thievery"! It's outright stealing on a grand scale which is a criminal offense by any definition and should result in the charging and incarceration of those concerned. The poor individual who steals a loaf of bread from Super Value or the poor bank teller who steals a few dollars, each out of desperation in order to feed their starving children, end up being charged and jailed, but the likes of Paul McWeeney and Richard Demeritte get to strut around like peacocks for their apparent role in crimes costing the Bahamian people and poor struggling Bahamian taxpayers mega millions. Perry Christie bears direct responsibility for all of these grave injustices..period!

You sound like you are afraid of your own shadow! Don't let yourself be too easily rattled by idle threats....great strength will always exist for those willing to stay the course in great numbers. Politicians, especially the more corrupt variety of them, both know and fear this simple fact the most!

There's a lot of truth to what you say here in as much as the organizations you mention are well known instruments of U.S. foreign policy and the U.S. government has a well established history of preferring to deal with corrupt puppet governments of its own choosing that it can more easily influence and control. By geographical proximity alone, the Bahamas will always be of a strategic national security interest to the U.S. What the U.S. government and its controlled agencies like IMF, World Bank, IDB, Moody's, S&P, etc. did not plan on in their efforts to destabilize the Bahamas, was that the Chinese would show up and be so fondly loved by the Bahamian government. Of course, neither the U.S. government nor the Chinese government could give a rat's arse about the quality of life and general well being of the Bahamian people in the long term. They are entirely motivated by there own interests and not the least bit by ours!

worth repeating: From the comments above it appears many of us are frightened and intimidated by the ever increasing threats being made against Bahamians by individuals of Haitian descent both at home and abroad. The Haitian uprising is only just beginning thanks in large part to both the Christie (PLP) and Ingraham (FNM) led administrations buying votes come general election time from illegal Haitian and Haitian-Bahamian immigrants in exchange for granting them Bahamian citizenship. Both Christie and Ingraham and their political parties (the PLP and FNM) have been heavily engaged in this type of vote buying activity whenever they have been in office since 1992. If this practice continues, The Bahamas will be a republic with a president of Haitian descent in less than 20 years time....assuming of course our corrupt politicians do not grant Bahamian citizenship to millions of Chinese nationals between now and then in exchange for their votes come general election time. Ultimately though, our corrupt Bahamian politicians like Christie and Ingraham simply do not care whether they subject Bahamians to Haitian or Chinese majority rule as long as they and their crony political and business friends get paid handsomely in any other currency than Bahamian dollars for allowing it to happen. Worrisome indeed that most Bahamian voters today have deliberately been deprived of an education by these same corrupt political leaders; deprived of a vital education that would allow them to realize their country is being sold to the highest bidder by the corrupt politicians they have foolishly voted for over the past two decades or so. McCartney and the DNA will be no different from the PLP and FNM. Come the next general election Bahamians will be doomed forever if they don't vote for a candidate who is now fed up with and totally independent of the PLP, FNM and DNA. Once elected, these new independents will hopefully form the new party(ies) we need to take back our nation and move it forward.

NTSB officials will no doubt be interviewing individuals like you who were in the area experiencing the weather conditions at the time of the crash. The Lear jet had the full complement of instruments necessary for a properly qualified pilot to land it safely in virtually blinding rain conditions with a cross wind of 20-25 knots. Higher wind gusts from varying directions would have made for a much more challenging final approach to the active runway. It really would have taken an intensely explosive microburst (very severe downdraft) to force the jet down to the altitude it was flying at shortly before crashing quite a distance from the airport. A pilot not adequately trained or uncomfortable in flying such a high performance jet by instruments alone in bad weather could well be the cause of the crash. All of this is speculation though and thankfully the NTSB is involved. If we had to wait on any agency of our Christie led government to investigate this crash, we would not learn anything for many many years to come, if at all.

I take it you believe the jet itself belonged with the recycled dump material in the Grand Bahama junk yard, but not the ill-fated passengers. With all that I've heard about the duo at the controls of the jet, I'm inclined to believe the crash was caused by pilot error rather than equipment failure or weather. But we shall all have to wait on the official findings of the NTSB, assuming the jet was indeed registered in the U.S.
