It would be most interesting to learn from our Minister of Immigration how many Chinese nationals currently hold work permits, permanent residency permits and Bahamian citizenship, having received their status from our Ministry of Immigration within the last 6 years.
You should have included "Fat Head" Obie with those you mentioned here. He now has three fat rings on the back of his head near the top of his neck line.
You forgot to include in item (1) worthy mention of the Maynard-Gibson family. By the way, The Tribune website gets thousands of hits on the average news day!
Simpleton Christie and his duplicitous accomplices (Paul McWeeney and Wendy Craigg) obviously decided it is better to give all Bahamians the royal shaft rather than just a subset of Bahamians like the depositors/creditors of BOB or the contributors to the National Insurance Fund (the NIB is a major shareholder of BOB). It really defies logic that as recently as last year, Christie as PM and Minister of Finance and Shane Gibson as Minister with responsibility for NIB, decided to increase NIB's shareholding in BOB by injecting $32 million of capital funds notwithstanding the known but unbooked mega millions of loan losses within BOB's loan portfolio. this was a royal breach of trust perpetrated on the intended and rightful beneficiaries of nib's trust funds by perry "vomit" christie, "shameless" shane gibson, "dufus" paul Mcweeney and "spineless" wendy craigg. this breach of trust is only amplified by the breach of trust these individuals now seek to perpetrate on the bahamian people as a whole through the creation of a bogus entity labelled "bahamas resolve" whose only beneficiaries in the main will ever be favoured corrupt political friends and equally corrupt business cronies of none other than perry "vomit" christie!!!! of course vomit will shamelessly claim: "but hubigitty was a crook in the same way too, so i am justified in being similarly crooked!" therein lies the lamed brained logic of christie!!!!!
Apparently some are saying that dealers in illegal arms eventually get their pound of flesh after a deal goes bad, no matter how long it takes! If this is true...well, what can you say? Other than perhaps: "Very sad".
It seems an increasing number of more junior politicians and government employees are resorting to recording phone discussions on controversial matters that may leave them exposed to the possibility of being thrown under the bus by their superiors for the role they may have been asked to play (wittingly or unwittingly) in the wrongful wheeling and dealing of others well above their pay scale and political standing in government.
This guy Wells just looks like the type who would be incapable of figuring out that Christie and Davis would ultimately have his hide no matter what their differences may be. What a fool Wells has ended up showing that he is!
The subject of Dr. Smith's outrageous demands for an annual salary of not less than $400,000 came up at a private dinner party in Lyford Cay last night attended by several influential individuals who have in the past donated considerable sums directly to COB or provided scholarships directly to many students of COB. A good many of these significant financial supporters of COB have chosen to remain anonymous over the years. The consensus was that all of this financial support should dry up until such time that a majority of the Trustees of COB recognize that the starting compensation package for the President of an institution of COB's current standing should be no more than $200,000 at most. Alfred Sears needs to wake up!
