This somewhat wordy lawyer should better spend his time figuring out how to eliminate the crux of the problem which is the corrupt back scratching that goes on in our county today between voters and politicians. Corrupt politicians are effectively "buying" votes with promises of government jobs of one kind or another that have excessive benefit entitlements tacked on. These politicians lack the leadership and other skill sets necessary to formulate sound economic policies that create private sector jobs. The outcome is a public sector ever increasing in size and costs, resulting in government debts that taxpayers are simply no longer able to shoulder.

The whole d-amn Florida transaction is nothing but a scam to circumvent Bahamas exchange control regulations. The sip sip in the know has it that the Bahamian political figures who (and Bahamian law firm that) benefited handsomely from this scam are about to be confronted with the unleashing of a mind blowing series of revelations that will leave them with very little choice but to "lawyer up" in a very big way!

Like his father "Snake", the little viper Franon is agitating for Government to pick the winners and losers rather than having it all clarified in black and white so that there is a level playing field for all. That apple sure don't fall far from the tree!

I will never forget Vince saying at a cocktail party that he wished his son was more of a Dobermann and less of a Poodle! Unlike his father, this guy certainly seeks the lime light!!

Like any true accountant, the Chipper Chippy is all too focused on minutia like the audit of expense reports when there are so many other mega million frauds and corrupt activities within our Government that he and others with a conscience should be addressing. Get with the program Chippy, if you can, and, if you can't, please at least step aside and make room for others who are willing to try focus on the much more important things!

Roughly half of our National Debt is attributable to Government approved corruption of one kind or another plus gross mismanagement by our political leaders who sorely lack the skills necessary to do anything but spend the hard earned taxpayers money and then whine that more taxation is needed to keep Government employees/unions happy. Christie and Ingraham alike have run us up against the wall we now face where the only sensible solution is a very painful and economically disruptive downsizing of our Government sector over the next several years .........a sensible solution which government sponsored and funded organizations like the IMF, World Bank, IDB, etc. will never recommend because they are beholden to the security and economic interests of the US Government. The US Government of late (whether Republican or Democrat controlled) is hell bent on destroying the constitutional rights of its own citizenry and has demonstrated time and time again its disdain for the sovereignty of other nations through unprovoked wars, NSA spying, drone strikes, etc., etc. Why on earth would we want to take any advice of any nature from international "puppet" agencies of the US like the imf, wto, World Bank, IDB, etc.?

The question to be put to Brave Davis and other political wimpees:

Why is government now promising to give a base pay increase to all government corporation and public service "double dippers" so that they are no worse off than they were while ripping off the taxpayers of this country for so many years?

I can hear Brave telling the union employees: "This is a win for you union folks, cause your base pay is now going to go up!"

These imbeciles don't know how to stop stealing and really have no sense whatsoever of right versus wrong. and to think they come to us cup in hand wanting to increase our taxes......tell every dam_n one of these crooked politicians to go fly a kite or better still, sit on their longest finger until it hurts but good!!!!!!!

Why doesn't The Tribune disclose where these rescued illegal immigrants were taken and which country is going to end up being saddled with the costs of deporting them? Oh wait, I forgot.....the Bahamas Government, whether FNM or PLP has a policy of greeting each of them with a Voter Registration Card which is why they are so willing to risk their lives at sea in the first place! It is really very sad that these poor people are being invited to their death by the failed policies of our PLP and FNM governments when it comes to tackling the problem of illegal immigration and maintaining a consistent posture that protects all Bahamians. I suspect it will not be long now before we hear of a serious cholera epidemic here in the Bahamas that will take our struggling tourism industry over the cliff forever.

Everyone who really wants to know already knows who the Bahamian players/principals are behind the BEC deal that the PM approved in principle many months ago, a "sweet heart" of a deal that will see poor Bahamian taxpayers fleeced of their State owned assets with no major reduction in their light bills.

Tempered tepid remarks unlike Rupert Roberts of SuperValue.....but "Phil Lightbourne" does not wish to upset the apple cart when it comes to Bahamas Food Services (currently owned by Beaver Street Fisheries, a family owned enterprise based in Jacksonville, Florida) jumping ship and selling out to Sysco (a publicly listed U.S. corporation). Sysco will undoubtedly find that is cannot adapt to the cultural and political pecularities of our society without quickly running afoul of the FCPA. The management/advisory contract proposed with the Beaver Street will not help for long on this front.
