The rest of the World is going to have a field day with this event. Name one other Country leader in the World today who has been robbed at gun point! JFK was assassinated and look at the shock waves that historical event created for the World. Perhaps we would have been better off as a nation had the Acting PM not survived this event. One thing is for sure, tourists will be thinking twice about coming our way.....after all, if your country can't protect its leader from serious crime, than who can it protect!!!!!
The second one to get the boot up his you know what is none other than our own totally incompetent pistol packing Minister of National Security. Like Police Commissioner Greenslade, if Nottage has no ability to protect our acting PM he should hang his head in shame and ride off into the wilderness. If he doesn't go willingly, the public should have his head by guillotine!!!
Oh my, how quickly many of our country's problems would disappear if all of them in parliament (especially the elected ones) would suffer the same fate!
Can you imagine Americans waking and being told their de facto President had been robbed at gun point! The first one to properly get the shaft here is our Police Commissioner.....if he can't protect the acting PM from serious crime, there's just no hope in hell for the rest of us!! Greenslade has had it coming for quite sometime time now through his bumbling incompetence, but I could have never ever have imagined the extent of the public disgrace that it has finally come with!!! Our Police Commissioner's self-discipline is itself woefully inadequate, like many of our politicians today....just take good look at their bulging waist lines!!!! Get rid of the lot before, even though it may now be a day too late!!!!!
Maynard-Gibson should be at the top of the list of those individuals to be banished from ever again holding any type of executive or senior administrative position or role within any government office, department or agency. She has over her political career demonstrated time and time again that she has absolutely no managerial skill sets whatsoever. The AG's Office has never made any meaningful head way with her at the helm and never will. While having mastered routine parliamentary procedures and the wagging of her tongue, her more time consuming interests are not devoted to the public good but rather the lining of her family's pocket book through the misuse of political influence for the benefit of personal and family ventures of one kind or another. Land grabbing is one of the things she certainly learned well from Sir Clem.
Strange that The Tribune is holding off naming who stole the funds when just about every student on COB's campus knows who the thief is, as well as the police. As usual, political cover has thus far prevented the thief from being formally charged. And the name of the thief is.....................
Economic growth will not come about without a reasonably well educated work force capable of competing at a global level. The serious shortcomings in our educational system favour and even cater to voters electing the worst of the worst politicians to run our country. Therein lies the real rub......the ongoing love affair between our dumb lamed brain voters and even dumber more lamed brain politicians! It's the perfect love affair made in hell for a country now mired in debt with no where to turn.
By the way, these corrupt politicians who buy votes with the public purse only know how to create private sector jobs by "giving the entire house away" to foreigners in the form of overly generous concessions that leave Bahamian taxpayers holding the bag when it comes to the development and maintenance of the country's infrastructural needs.
