Are you making the argument we should have remained a British colony because we are too small a nation to be self-governed? If so, this might explain why we are so vulnerable to the hideous agendas and bullying tactics of the likes of the imf, fatf, idb, oecd et al. which are slowly but surely destroying our economy. It could also explain why corruption is rampant throughout our government and civil service work force today. But who will take us in under their protective wing? Even the U.S. would like to free itself of certain of its U.S. territories today - starting with Puerto Rico!
Could be my room-mate, might be my son, perhaps my daughter, even might be my spouse, or possibly my cousin, but what about my nephew, or my granddaughter, if not my uncle, or just a good friend. What say you now @Mass Exodus a/k/a @banker, not to name a few others, like the 'honest' one? ....... LOL!!!
*Repost:* Can you just imagine for one moment how such a spy statute would have been used by the corrupt Christie-led PLP government???!!!! Crooked Christie and his evil wicked witch of an attorney general (Allyson Maynard-gibson) would have used the dangerous spying powers to serve their own very corrupt greedy purposes and at the same time crush the voices of all opposition to them, including the free-press. The change of government on May 10, 2017 would never have occurred and most of us who heavily criticized the PLP (including many bloggers to this website) would have probably faced trumped up bogus charges of one kind or another before being carted off to prison. "No!" we cannot afford for any government to ever have such dangerous and intrusive powers over us. It would result in the end of our constitutional rights and democracy no matter what the distinguished lawyers and politicians in our country may tell us. That's the harsh reality! The threats to our society are not such that we should be willing to allow our government to listen in to our most private conversations and surveil all our other communications (internet and otherwise). Simply put, the dangers of doing so far outweigh any possible benefits! If there is one matter that warrants a national referendum, it would be this proposed spy statute as it would definitely be challenged on many legal fronts eventually triggering the need for the proposal of certain undesirable amendments to our existing constitution. With this in mind, a national referendum should be held first as opposed to the Minnis-led FNM government trying to ram the proposed spy statute down our throats after informal public commentary on it. Do the right thing Minnis - call for a national referendum (not a public survey) on this most important matter!
Be careful. Yale University, like most of the other Ivy League Schools, is an incubator par excellence of the world's most liberally minded - those who are most vulnerable to being controlled by the so called 'Elitist Globalists' and proponents of 'The New World Order' - better known as 'The 0.001%'.
The IMF, IDB et al. are experts on the death spirals of countries; after all they are the ones responsible for inducing such spirals by encouraging known corrupt politicians in governments like ours to take on unsustainable debt so that the well-planned goals of their lobbyists in the developed countries can be met on the cheap, i.e. the developing country like the Bahamas is made ripe for foreign corporate interests to swoop in and buy the most valuable national assets and natural resources at bargain basement prices.
@John, the issues going on in that head of yours once again cloud your ability to appreciate the bigger picture. The Government of Haiti effectively shut the diplomacy door on us many moons ago when it realized the extent of the hard currency inflows to its country that were coming from the Bahamas. I would venture to say more than half of the Haitian illegal migrants in the Bahamas were trying to get to Florida when they were intercepted by the U.S. Coast Guard or our Defense Force and most of them would still welcome going there. And most of the remaining Haitian illegal migrants would be similarly inclined to end up in Florida if they knew they would no longer be able to get hard currency back to Haiti from the Bahamas. If this situation is leveraged properly by us with the U.S. Government, we can let the U.S. Government with all its diplomatic might deal with the Haitian government to get these illegal migrants back to Haiti lest they end up in Florida, perhaps with a little help from us in pointing out the direction to Miami. Enough said.

Sometimes I wonder if Minnis has any idea just how much money is being sucked out of our economy daily to be sent to others shores by illegal migrants and the numbers bosses.

Minnis has a real problem in that both Brent Symonette and Carl Bethel believe he is even more of a "moron" than Donald Trump!
