Sanders is a typical myopic bureaucrat full of words but incapable of seeing the big picture. He knows full well that strength in terms of the number of member nation votes means absolutely nothing at the OAS. The OAS is only able to accomplish anything in those instances where a majority of its member nations (including the U.S.) are able to exert serious peer pressure on the opposing or unwilling minority. The larger countries in the Americas like the U.S. will always be immune for all intents and purposes to peer pressure from a majority of the member nations in the OAS. The OAS therefore can only ever be a tool of the U.S. for influencing the smaller member nations. It can never be the other way around because the number of member nations is really irrelevant when it comes to the OAS accomplishing anything that the U.S. alone does not want it to accomplish. That's the big picture harsh reality and will always be the bottom line. Only U.S. citizens stand to gain from the activities of the OAS and it is for this reason alone that the U.S. should willingly continue to bear the lion's share of the costs of that organization. It is also much more cost effective in many instances for the U.S. to deal with the other member nations of the Americas as a group, rather than have to deal with each of them one on one when it comes to the adoption and implementation of policy matters that serve the greater interests of the U.S.
Did this bank have any Bahamians sitting on its board of directors or holding senior management positions during the relevant period of the illegal internet pharmacy scam?
I just can't see where many people from abroad will be interested in a stay at Baha Mar to watch lousy movies made in Red China as a featured attraction.
Many but not all of us are happily married with current mortgages, paid-up bills, and no taxes owing thanks to our serious work ethic and willingness to put in full day's work for a full day's pay notwithstanding all the obstacles that have been put in our way by the likes of Christie. Now what say you?!
In other words you see nothing wrong with what Christie and his co-conspirators in crime did, even though it involved the outright theft for self-gain of mega-millions of dollars of the people's limited financial resources. As for that nice shirt, you would be able to buy similar nice things and a whole helluva lot more if you had just one one-thousandth (1/1000) of the Christie family's ill-gotten net worth today.
Yes, but greater expectations naturally exist for elected officials who are given the honour and privilege of doing the greater public good. It just comes with the turf of elected office and should naturally apply to all those who aspire to it.....especially in the case of career active politicians. But clearly many voters in certain constituencies have not seen it that way, until recently.
Christie and his cabinet ministers effectively stole millions and millions of dollars of public funds via job salaries to unnecessary new government employees and by way of unwarranted across the board promotions of existing government employees, all as a part of their failed effort to bribe voters to re-elect the PLP government for another term of five years. Theft is theft and this amounts to theft on a very grand scale. So roll up your sleeves Mr. AG and and get down to some serious work with the DPP!
