Repost - @Mudda you are so right about what you say here. At the risk of being accused of using the good Lord's name in vain, most registered voters would not vote for Jesus Christ himself if he were running as an independent candidate in their constituency without being affiliated with either the PLP, DNA or FNM. And just think how many times we have all heard the ridiculous sentiment that a vote for the DNA may as well be a vote for the PLP because it would split the total vote in may constituencies leaving the FNM the loser. In other words, registered voters are being told time and time again to vote along party lines without any consideration of who in fact may be the best candidate for the job in terms of their honest character, smarts and good judgement. For Bahamian voters, it's all about the political party and it's precisely this wrong mindset that corrupt politicians encourage whether they be of the FNM, PLP or DNA variety. It's the kind of demented thinking that prevents us from ever having good governance through a robust government and equally robust opposition. I truly fear that we may be locked in a vicious cycle of corrupt rotating governments, whether FNM, PLP or DNA, all because most registered voters seem unable to do what you have been so strongly recommending: think, think think!!!
The regional corrupt racketeering numbers' bosses and local bosses like Sebas Bastian and Craig Flowers are putting immense pressure on Perry Christie as Minister of Finance, and John Rolle as Governor of The Central Bank, to relax exchange controls so that they may launder/convert their ill-gotten profits denominated in Bahamian dollars to hard currencies like the U.S. dollar, Euro, etc. This is going to have disastrous consequences for our country's ability to maintain the current fixed peg of BSD 1.00 equals USD 1.00. Of course Christie and Rolle don't give a flying you know what about this as long as they both make out like bandits thanks to the 'generosity' being shown them by the numbers' bosses. Unfortunately neither Minnis nor McCartney as PM would do anything to stop what's going on here; the 'generosity' money would simply be re-directed by the numbers' bosses to our new PM whoever he may be and he would gladly take same.

Like Mudda I suspect Minnis and his crew, if elected, would be much too busy going about lining their own pockets to bother with the eight (8) vital initiatives identified above by Mudda, including the holding of a Royal Commission of Enquiry. Besides the last thing Minnis would want to do is make it difficult for himself and his cronies to drink from what Mudda calls the "bountiful" fountain of tax dollars and national debt borrowings. I also strongly agree with Mudda that Christie cannot be allowed another five years. It would seem there is really only one solution, and it goes without saying.
Re-post: @Mudda you are so right about the glaringly shameless political bias of The Tribune. On page 9 of the April 11 edition of The Tribune, the editorially staff selectively printed only part of one your comments recently posted to this web site in which you identified the valuing of loyalty above all else as being Christie's single greatest weakness. The Tribune very deliberately omitted printing the part of your comments where you pointed out that Minnis suffers from the same weakness. Small wonder so many now regard The Tribune as a ragtime tabloid devoid of professional journalism....nothing but a media outlet for the views of its owners and the suppressing of differing views expressed by others.

@ Mudda - I don't think too many of us will find most of what you say here disagreeable. I certainly agree that new hands in the cookie jar are not going to help us any, and may even be much worse for us ........ especially if they must fatten new hungry bellies.
