...many years ago a former politician stated at a private function that outside the construction, jet ski rentals was the only industry that would hire ex-convicts and therefore there had to be leniency in dealing with the operators. Needless to say, the chickens have come home to roost.
The restaurant business is one of the most difficult, especially in this country. If this is the same chap who was dating Tiger Wood's ex wife, no doubt that task would have claimed a great deal of his disposable income.
another sad statement.....people will line up for hours in a queue, causing inconvenience for others in transit and in one instance an accident over fried chicken. Such a brilliant people have evolved in this nation in the last 40 years. Truly would be a " Greek tragedy" but in this instance, seems to be another conquest.
Teachers and now students. This place is beyond ridiculous. The crime is getting more and more brazen and the spillover is expanding rapidly. It is obvious that the leadership is completely out of its depth.
Perhaps a "work for your repatriation trip home" program would be a better deterrent. When illegals are captured, they must be charged a financial penalty which proportionally covers all costs associated with their being repatriated. Have them clean the island of debris, cut bush, paint public buildings etc. Once the debt has been paid, they can enjoy, for the majority, their first plane ride home.
When the previous government raised the import tax on new cars, a former minister was advised that they were turning the country into a used car nation. His retort was there were more than enough persons of "means" who can afford new cars at inflated prices.
Now since VAT has been introduced and the economy took a sharp turn south, one wonders how many persons of "means" are left to purchase vehicles at ridiculous prices.
We have one a very sad selection of leaders with limited foresight for far too long!
Regardless says...
