Describing President Trump's response to the Covid19 pandemic as a lack of definite leadership that has hurt the US response capability may not be fair when one considers Trump exclaims he has a natural ability for dealing with these things and he thinks he has done a great job so far.

Looking at the actual facts on the ground does, however, make one wonder how and why the good President arrived at these conclusions given the undeniable fact that the U.S. has quickly become the new epicenter for Covid19.

WHAT employees are maintaining an active customer call center? I have been trying to contact BPL for the last few days and it is absolutely impossible to reach them by phone there is no response by email!

Nobody minding the shop at BPL.

Closing the banks would be disastrous for me and many people. How could we access funds in business checking accounts when needed, get extended overdraft facilities, or send wires to pay for foreign purchases? Perhaps the banks can have staff work from home using phones and internet to deal with these types transactions but moving funds from some accounts to others would still be an issue. Sounds like a REAL problem!

Mr. Turnquest references "the near-total tourism industry shutdown" and "on the loss of all cruise ship passengers and 80 percent of stopover tourists".

Can somebody please identify where the remaining 20% stopover visitors are supposed to be coming from?

Secondly, indicators to date suggest the U.S. economy will be seriously devastated by Covid-19, and the Caribbean region may be less affected. If that plays out, we would be wise to begin focusing more on the Caribbean and Latin American markets for tourism and trade.

Now is also the time to seriously begin positioning Freeport as a duty-free shopping zone for the Caribbean and Latin American markets.

Trump chased the Caribbean and Latin American shi-hole countries tourist away and these people would love to come here for shopping and vacationing.

Thank you, PM for being bold enough to do what should have been done 2 weeks ago!

The possible disastrous alternative for any further delay would be unimaginably more costly than a proactive "controlled" shut down.

Thank GOD Perry Christie, Brave Davis, and the PLP dancers are not in control of the country now!!!

Unfortunately, a higher number of Haitians will be more adversely affected by COVID-19 than Bahamians per capita simply because they live in tight, less hygienic environments.

This will result in Haitians overwhelming the medical system making it near impossible for Bahamians and legal residents to get life-saving medical care.

We all knew that natural disasters and disease outbreaks would one day solve the illegal Haitian shantytown problem that neither government had the fortitude to deal with.

Brave is proving more and more almost on a daily bases that he is a total idiot!

Thank GOD the "PLP dancers" with this jackelrass in power are not in control of the country at this critical time.

Actually, based on evidence and time timelines of what happened in Italy and France, for some unknown reasons the PM is moving too slowly and doing too little too late to have a maximum flattening effect on the virus.

Trump expects an 18-month coronavirus war:

Absolute worse news so far!

If we didn't have 20,000+ blue-collar ex-pats repatriating USD every day, our hard currency reserves would have been in a much healthier position to withstand this unprecedented shock!

When the coronavirus immerges from its incubation stage shortly in the Bahamas, Illegal Haitians will be the first to overwhelm our health care services and Bahamians will be unable to get medical care.

We always knew it would take a serious hurricane and virus epidemic to resolve the illegal Haitian invasion problem.

One of the reasons the Water and Sewerage Corporation provides water at a loss is because of standpipes (pumps) in low-income areas dispensing unlimited free water, which are allowed to be mindbogglingly abused by people that can be seen either leaving the faucet taps running and/or incurring huge wastage while filling too small-mouthed containers and worst of all Haitians collecting 50-gallon drums of free potable water at 3 to 4 AM which they then bottle and sell! to an unsuspecting public.

Mr. Bannister needs to get off his bad foot and begin enforcing the laws of the country!!!!!!!
