Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. How the hell can we even begin to justify being the 6th most expensive place to live on earth, when we are just 40 miles off the U.S. mainland?
HOW and WHY do prices increase 400% between Florida and the local retail markets?
Obviously, import dependency is not an acceptable excuse as Bermuda, Cayman, Turks and any number of other Island destinations much further away have a markedly lower cost of living!
Until we finally wake up and decide to unshackle ourselves from the sunshine boys and bay street boys, who both get a percentage of **everything entering the country** we will continue being ridden like donkeys by these pirates.
The PLP and FNM hierarchy are equally responsible for where we are today. We must find the where it all to untether our country and people away from these pirates.
We desperately need a third and preferably fourth political party option to chose from.
Why is it that slavery which is responsible for well over 100 million deaths is labeled as crap to be swept away and ignored, but the holocaust which caused under 13 million deaths is labeled a tragedy complete with billions in restitution?
Denying the responsibility and horrors of slavery cannot erase or change history!
Why are we always half stepping? The U.S., Singapore, and others have already set a precedent that we could adapt without being labeled xenophobic by Fred Smith and his crew of wackos.
"To combat coronavirus, the U.S. to **deny entry** to foreign nationals who recently visited China and quarantine returning Americans"
We should simply "deny entry" to foreign nationals who recently visited China and mandatory quarantine returning Bahamians/residents".
If this virus gets loose in the Bahamas, tourism will come to an immediate halt. The economic repercussions would be unprecedented. The effects of hurricane Dorian in Abaco and Freeport would seem like a walk in the park!
To risk it is unnecessary and beyond stupid Dr. Sands.
This a no-brainer for a lot of people. If Dr. Minnis keeps his campaign promises of dealing with the Haitian invasion and putting a Freedom Of Information act "with teeth" in place, he can have my vote again.
We know the PLP could never do either these things so they are totally out of the equation.
In the last election campaign, the PLP promised "free electricity," most people knew better than that. So regardless of what comes out of Braves' mouth, nobody with sense will believe anything he promises!
