Why are we always half stepping? The U.S., Singapore, and others have already set a precedent that we could adapt without being labeled xenophobic by Fred Smith and his crew of wackos.
"To combat coronavirus, the U.S. to **deny entry** to foreign nationals who recently visited China and quarantine returning Americans"
We should simply "deny entry" to foreign nationals who recently visited China and mandatory quarantine returning Bahamians/residents".
If this virus gets loose in the Bahamas, tourism will come to an immediate halt. The economic repercussions would be unprecedented. The effects of hurricane Dorian in Abaco and Freeport would seem like a walk in the park!
To risk it is unnecessary and beyond stupid Dr. Sands.
This a no-brainer for a lot of people. If Dr. Minnis keeps his campaign promises of dealing with the Haitian invasion and putting a Freedom Of Information act "with teeth" in place, he can have my vote again.
We know the PLP could never do either these things so they are totally out of the equation.
In the last election campaign, the PLP promised "free electricity," most people knew better than that. So regardless of what comes out of Braves' mouth, nobody with sense will believe anything he promises!
All Dion Foulkes does is talk! How many times have we heard this same story? The Chinese are laughing at this clown standing around rattling sabers and doing nothing about the issue.
If Foulks were serious he would shut down the project until the terms of the agreement were satisfied.
Expedia charges properties 25% commissions on booking fees and an extra 10% fee for so-called "member prices". This gouging by Expedia of hotel properties is totally unjustified and absurd!
How the hell is property owners who have invested heavily and have high overheads, expected to make any profit if Expedia who has no investment and no vested interest demands what actually amounts to almost 40% of the companies net per sale?
Booking.com charges 12% commissions and has surpassed Expedia to become the world leader in property bookings.
WTF?? We are already taxed beyond reason. The food cost here is astronomical. The Bahamas is 40 miles off the U.S. mainland, and is the 4th most expensive country in the world to live in!
How the hell does the government explain this phenomenon? Why do we sit back and take this nonsense?

Unfortunately, the horse left the barn many, many years ago leaving us top to bottom inundated with ex-pats doing unemployed Bahamians can do!
It is no wonder so many ex-pats have such huge superiority complexes knowing they are barely average in home countries and considered "needed" here.
We do not need to reinvent the wheel on this one. The Cayman Islands model has worked perfectly for decades.
