Mr. Pinder's plan may not be 100% perfect, however, there is an urgent need for something to be done about ex-pat workers and unemployed Bahamians.

There are literally tens of thousands of unneeded ex-pat workers in this country doing jobs that Bahamians can do. Many employers prefer ex-pats because they are much more subservient than Bahamians.

The ex-pat worker will work harder and suffer more abuse than Bahamians simply because they enjoy a much better standard of living here, can send remittances to unemployed relatives in depressed countries and do not want to be sent back to home countries where there are no jobs at all and drastically reduced standards of living.

We need to start somewhere in addressing this issue and getting the proliferation of ex-pat workers under control, and Mr. Pinder's idea is a great way to start. Any necessary adjustments can be made down the road.

SP says...

The Bahamas is already a ‘Collapsed State’ for many Bahamians who find themselves standing in soup kitchen lines every day because Fred's Haitians and other blue-collar ex-pats have taken their jobs!

Why the hell do we allow Bahamians to suffer the indignities of joblessness and begging for handouts while ex-pats are enjoying the fat of the land?

SP says...

Sooooooo failed politicians that identify as jackasses, morons and just plain stupid, should do what now?

More alphabet people. JMJPS?

SP says...

The government didn't ask a single soul any questions about following the U.S. failed war on drugs and destroying tens of thousands of Bahamian lives!

Now that the U.S. has moved on and legalized drugs, our government cannot "follow" them out of the failed initiative.

We are a stupid little country lead by stupid little people, too self-righteous to get out of our own way!

SP says...

DUH!....These clowns took MONTHS to conclude what most of the world concluded AND implemented years ago?

They need to stop the brainstorming charade and get on with it already.

Legalize the dam stuff, clear people's police records caught with personnel use amounts, make room in Fox Hill for serious offenders, free those in prison for stupid small amounts and join the U.S. Jamaica, Canada and everywhere else in producing pot as a cash crop.

What the hell are they pondering?

SP says...

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. We are 40 miles off the U.S. coast and we are the 6th most expensive country in the world to live in!?

You people are debating the price of eggs while we should all be demanding the powers that be to break monopolies and lower prices on everything!

The government would make even more income due to the increase in volume sales when more people could afford more goods pay VAT on consumer goods.

Three stooges Pindling, Ingraham, and Christie, as finance ministers obviously knew absolutely nothing about finance, market forces or basic sales principles!

The disparity is enormous and grossly unfair!

How the hell can the Bahamas be the 6th most expensive country in the world to live in when we are located only 40 miles off the coast and the biggest trading partners with the world's 24th most expensive country in the world to live in?

Time for the Bay Street and Sunshine Boys to go!!!

SP says...

HA, You must be joking, "Qualified, Bahamians with education and experience and Nuevo wealth" have absolutely no interest in returning to this corrupt banana republic! It is far easier for them to invest and live abroad than to even begin considering uprooting the Bay Street and Sun Shine boys groups of pirates.

The Bahamas has been a den of piracy for 100's of years and as long as the PLP or FNM are in power nothing will change!

SP says...

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, **"what if"** Lynden Pindling, Hubert Ingraham, and Perry Christie were not corrupt and actually cared more about Bahamians than Haitians and others!

First and foremost our population would be about 155,000, the standards of education, health care, social services, and security would be the best in the region, we would be among the strongest banking sectors in the world, there would be over employment instead of massive unemployment and no need for a high crime rate!

The Bahamas is only 40 miles off the U.S. mainland but among the 6th most expensive countries in the world to live in but we cannot keep the lights on, street signs are practically non-existant, crime is off the charts, our people have been all but totally devoured by poverty caused by rising unemployment, while Haitians, Asians, Latinos, Africans, and many, many, others live off the fat of the land sending remittances to home countries to support families build houses, and start businesses.

We joined the U.S. and instantly jumped on the "war against drugs" wagon with-out any thought whatsoever, and now find ourselves still **self-shackled** there "pondering" long after the U.S. and others abandoned the initiative, and changed course to capitalize on its profits. Too self-righteous to get out of our own way!

https://www.visualcapitalist.com/the-wo…

We allowed collaborative political corruption across party lines to run so deep that passing Freedom Of Information legislation is totally impossible because too many of the so-called "elite" would end up in prison where they belong!

**"WHAT IF"** we the people took the next voting opportunity to say enough is enough and did **whatever it takes** to get rid of the PLP and FNM, demand 60 years of political accountability and change the course of our country to actually benefit Bahamians?

**"WHAT IF"** is a loaded question that speaks volumes!

SP says...

**finally.** This is the best news for the year. I don't know who Mr. Adrian Francis is, but he has my 100% support!

Bahamians have to be the most long-suffering and giving people in the world to have allowed successive governments to facilitate illegal Haitians migrating to the Bahamas and disenfranchise them of jobs, education, business opportunities, health care, social services, security, and only GOD himself knows what else.

Illegal Haitian migrants have had free reign to destroy our country and are quickly dragging us down to Haiti status. Illegals are worse than parasites and legal Haitians are enablers.

I would love to help, contribute, and join Operation Sovereign Bahamas!

Someone needs to ask Mr. Adrian Francis to post his contacts here so interested Bahamians can become involved.
