A couple of things need to be clarified. Firstly, is the Bahamas government still rewarding illegal Haitian migrants $300.00 each for being caught and deported?

Secondly, which of the three previous jackass prime ministers thought it was a good idea to give illegal Haitians the equivalent of a year's salary in Haiti for being caught breaking our immigration laws?

This is a good example of why we need a freedom of information act to keep these self-serving politicians inline!

Lastly, when will this government stop pussyfooting around and focus on stopping the demand for illegals by punishing businesses for hiring them?

golden Isles MP Vaughn Miller needs to do more than disagree that Town Center Mall isn't the best location for relocating the post office. He needs to either offer comparable alternatives or shut up.

Most people find Mr. Symonette anti-Black Bahamian, reprehensible and self-serving at best, however, due to its logistics, Town Center Mall is by far the best logical location for the main post office.

Very interesting happenings in the House. One cannot help wondering how many more FNM MP's are on the verge of crossing the floor for one reason or the other!

Where there is smoke there is fire!

This is stupid. Why the hell are they speeding up the solarisation of the Family Islands when New Providence is in dire need of sustainable, affordable, power solutions?

The government and IDB should be concentrating on lowering power bills in the capital so as to stimulate jobs and growth!

WTF? Obie Ferguson still around rattling swords and making threats? This man has done nothing but talk for years. No wonder the unions are in stalemates, this guy must be getting some serious lotion to keep the unions in line for government.

“The online system, which is fully integrated with the passport system launch today, remains one of the *most advanced in the world*"

Lol....this has to be the biggest joke for the year! Guaranteed we will see any number of complaints about how the new system failed.

Haitians will have a field day circumventing and inundating the system with fraudulent documents.

LORD help us!

On Passport renewals can now be done online

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Mr. Dionisio D’Aguilar can stand around throwing numbers and stats around all he likes. It is all absolutely useless for the Bahamas cruise passengers to increase unless D’Aguilar also figures out how to get these "increased" cruise passengers off the ships and spending money in the local economy!

D’Aguilar and the ministry of tourism need to stop blowing hot air at us and find ways of encouraging cruise passengers to get off the ships.

The PM is making an attempt at a short term stimulus for the economy, and he should be congratulated for his efforts.

Now he needs to do some "heavy lifting" for long-term, sustainable, economic growth and step up to the plate to begin the process of reversing 30 years of damage inflicted on our country and people by the asinine stupidity of Dumb and Dumber, who allowed literally 10's of 1000's of low skilled blue-collar ex-pat workers to put Bahamians in unemployment and soup kitchen lines because they were too damn ignorant to educate our people and grow the economy commensurate with population growth.

These ex-pats are from countries with drastically lower standards of living than the Bahamas, never in their wildest dreams ever thought they would live in modern houses or ever drive a car, much less own one. And here they are in the Bahamas living the Bahamian dream that our parents and grandparents toiled for, for future generations.

Time to stop the stupidity, put our people back to work and rebuild our commercial banking sector!

SP says...

When is the government going to stop shuffling around and immediately put a training program in place to train our people to replace 1000,s of Filipino and Latino domestic workers?

These people's hard currency foreign remittances and lack of spending locally are a major drain on the economy and is destroying the commercial banking sector!

Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary solutions. Get rid of all none essential ex-pats and put our people back to work.

The Chinese have already unquestionably established with the Sarkis Izmarillian Baha Mar fiasco that they are as trustworthy as rattlesnakes.

Successive governments of the Bahamas have NEVER served or had the interest and needs of the Bahamian people at heart, transparency, and accountability is just another bad joke politicians "talk" about as opposition parties and buries immediately upon gaining power.

The only "key principles" the PLP and FNM have are collaborative corruption and self-service!

Meanwhile, they failed to educate our people, then labeled the people as "D" average dummies as justification to give all their jobs to Haitians, Filipinos, and Latinos.

Our country will never progress with PLP or FNM leadership. Expecting them to rescue us from the failed position **" they lead us to"**, is like trying to extinguish a fire by throwing gas on it!

Near absolute gridlock with Customs clearance for courier packages and incoming freight. To add insult to injury, Customs officers are having a wonderful time using the badly broken system to find more ways of denying entries for petty, nonsensical reasons!

At the end of the day, there is no indication the click2clear system will have any impact on the 40%+ pilferage and leakage by Customs officers. So the whole thing is a useless, non-starter from the very beginning.

The public paid for yet more red tape in a system that was already a pain to deal with. Which genius suggested this was a good idea in the first place??
