Only privileged, financially secure individuals have this mindset. The average struggling Bahamian is already having a tough time making ends meet with all the expats hogging up well paying blue collar and white collar jobs across all industries.
The Bahamas need to firstly focus on uplifting the generations of Bahamians left behind educationally and financially by Pindling, Ingraham, and Christie before we can remotely start thinking about increasing the population with more expats!
Culson never identified with the average Bahamian, doesn't understand their way of life, and have absolutely NO CLUE what it's like to have to compete with expats for a meager survival.
Now let's hear from the "prominent" Haitian, Chinese, American, Filipino, African, Latino, Canadian and West Indian.
None of these "prominent foreigners" will have one positive thing to say about preserving the Bahamas for Bahamians. It's all about them, their businesses and their children!
What about Bahamians, our businesses and our children?
**We need to build a wall** around the Bahamas before these "prominent" foreigners take everything our forefathers slaved, worked and sacrificed for!
**congratulations sakis. we the people are behind you 100%!**
thank jehovah god that the U.S. courts will shed light on both CCA and dancing jackass Christie administration "decision-making". Too much went terribly wrong with an individual Bahamians came to love and respect, and the incompetence leading to the loss of hundreds of acres of the most expensive peoples' crown land in the country cannot go unpunished!
CCA, may dislike the bad publicity they brought upon themselves, and the people involved, but hopefully, the US legal system will find the Chinese government were wrong in their dealings with Sarkis and force them to pay justifiable damages leading to a greatly subdued Chinese presence in the Bahamas.
The U.S. court system will bring this case into the light and all the under the table dirty workings of dancing Jack-ass Christie, Wicked Witch Maynard, Shame Gibson, Sticky Fingers Dorsette, and panhandling Fitzgerald will be exposed and relevant charges made accordingly.
Talking shyt is a very serious ting! And Nicolette Bethel has a "Masters" in talking total bullshyt!
If we do not protect our borders and heritage, "other people" will claim them as their own. Where and what will descendants of Bahamians go and do when "others" take over our country while THEIR constitution does not allow anyone without bloodline heritage to obtain citizenship regardless of circumstances and or investments?
Nicolette Bethel nor anyone else EVER calls or describes the Haitian constitution as Xenophobic, but they are quick to jump on Bahamians who are similarly protecting our rights as a people!
Let the violent uprising begin, as I and everyone I know are ready to fight and die for our childrens' bahamaland!!!
So they intend finalizing& securing all licenses and permits with the government and agencies by the end of September.”? **WTF** takes the government so long with this no-brainer project?
Carnival obviously understands that Grand Bahama and the entire Bahamas at large is extraordinarily well positioned to becoming the western hemispheres air and sea travel transit hub for the Americas!
Dumbass-Pindling, Dumberass-Ingraham, and for GODS sake Dumbest-jackass-Christie were too busy lining their own pockets to capitalize on the very easily attainable potential of the Bahamas developing into the biggest transit travel hub in the western hemisphere!
I am not in the least impressed, as a 15-year-old D average retard could have seen the potential in making this happen.
Firstly, only Hubert Ingraham, Perry Christie and others of Haitian descent are stupid enough to pay any attention to anything Fred Smith has to say.
Secondly Fred, Freeport economy that has been mired in a **"great depression"** since 2004, not just a recession!
Finally, a below F grade, retarded, 15-year-old could have conceived Freeport being a major player in the water and theme park business. With the Bahamas proximity to Florida, the whole country, particularly the more temperate Southern Islands should all be major players and biggest competitors to Florida's tourism base!
Why Dumb-ass Pindling, Dumber-ass Ingraham, and Dumbest-ass Christie couldn't wrap their extraordinary big heads around this **"no brainer"** concept will always be a mystery. They were like crawfish, all head, and no damn brain!
Certainly, Dionisio D’Aguilar cannot be ignorant enough to think the FNM's new marketing initiative is the reason for the increase in arrivals. No new marketing strategy in the world could produce these numbers in such a short window.
Two major factors D’Aguilar chooses to ignore are regional destination competitors still suffering hurricane-related challenges and the huge downturn of tourism travel to the U.S. caused by to the "Trump Effect".
The United States is finally coming to grips with the hard reality that "people with cash" have many other travel options than America for travel, and the cost of dwindling vacationers is a serious problem to their overall bottom line.
My family for one has refused to visit the U.S. for over 12 years due to rude "border agents" that act like they are doing us a big favor to "allow us to spend in the U.S. economy". The result was travel to several other countries which were all better value than the U.S. and without the customs and immigration nonsense and racial tensions of America!
Research prepared for the Visit U.S. Coalition by the U.S. Travel Association shows that global travel volume increased 7.9% from 2015 to 2017. But the U.S. slice of that fell from 13.6% to 11.9% in the same period. That is the first drop after more than a decade of consistent growth.
Meanwhile, spending by international visitors to the USA dropped 3.3% through November 2017 over the same period the previous year, according to the Commerce Department.
The U.S. Travel Association estimates that translates into **a loss of $4.6 billion spent in the U.S. economy and 40,000 jobs.**
In fact, the UN World Tourism Organization says Spain is about to replace the USA as the world's second most popular tourist destination, after France. The travel industry is so concerned about this because their leaders say, tourists bring in much-needed dollars to the U.S. economy.
"We're losing big numbers here," Dow says. Data from July 2017 shows that inbound travel from the Middle East is down 40.3%, from Africa 32.1%, from South America 15.5%, from Central America 18.8%, and from the Caribbean 22.3%. Even Eastern Europe had a 17.1% drop in visitors traveling to the USA.
But Dow does acknowledge that the uncertainty of whether or not people with certain citizenship can get into the USA has caused many to stay away.
"There's a factor of people saying I don’t want to be hassled," he says.
WTF?? This mutton fish looking woman has the heart to open her mouth about "shameful giveaway deals" after she supported dancing jackass Christie in the PLP "giveaway of the millennium" of the peoples crown land in **Cable Beach to the Chinese** with Baha Mar?
The PLP have no more voice in the country after failing miserably with their "we believe in Bahamians" "Bahamians first" 2012 campaign promises and 5 years of the worst governance this country has ever suffered. Unquestionably, with 5 consecutive IMF downgrades with no end in sight, unprecedented graft and crony corruption, had the PLP won another term, they would have reduced us to Haiti's' standards or worse!
The FNM shouldn't smile either, as Dr. Minnis has also failed with his mandate to "root out corruption" so we have no further need of him either.
We the people have had enough with the PLP and the FNM **bullshyt**!
