When was freedom of speech and expression made illegal in the Bahamas?

If Lynden Oscar Pindling, Hubert Alexander Ingraham, and Perry Gladstone Christie had several independent thinking MP's like Pineridge MP Fredrick McAlpine holding them publically accountable, they would all have been better prime ministers and the country might not be in the dire position we now find ourselves!

Pindling, Ingraham, and Christie lost their way practically immediately after tasting absolute power. The yes men, ass kissers and spineless MP's crashed and burned with these failed prime ministers to the point where the electorate voted them all out.

Mr. McApline should be encouraged to continue his criticisms until he is made satisfied that all is being done for his constituents and on a wider scale ALL Bahamians.

Please continue to be outspoken, demanding and keeping your governments' feet to the fire Mr. McAlpine!

You and **many more like you** are exactly what this country needs if we are to move forward.

This is definitely a step in the right direction. They need to put mechanisms in place to "force" a rogue government to abandon reckless policies and actions that are not in the best interest of the country.

Asinine political failures Hubert Ingraham and Perry Christie took turns destroying our country, watching each other's backs in favor of special interest groups, friends, family, and lovers proving beyond all doubt that absolute power corrupts absolutely!

There must be ways and means of an independent group limiting the powers of the prime minister as members of ruling governments have proven totally incapable of independent thought in the countries interest. Otherwise, we will have another power crazed, corrupt "democratic dictator" in our future.

Absolutely amazing that the politicians get medical care and educate all their children abroad, but they never cared to figure out how to do the same for the very people that enabled them to pay for it all!

These asinine failures should be made to suffer the same fate as the people they "served".

These people who never ran a business have no clue what its like to get anything accomplished here! They sit around dreaming up asinine, nonsensical policies and procedures about something they know absolutely nothing.

Thank GOD for once someone with clout had enough sense to LISTEN to business owners!

The idiot(s) that came up with the idea business's should obtain and present foreign exchange approval with every entry should be removed from the decision-making process, as obviously this person(s) is totally unaware of the location of his anus and elbow and certainly have no idea what "facilitating the ease of business" remotely means!

Who does Brent Symonette represent in Parliament? How could a billionaire begin to understand what is important to the average Bahamian and our children?

We do not need the likes of Brent Symonette making decisions on behalf of struggling, Bahamians competing against Haitians and other expats to make a living.

"The Bahamian economy has turned the corner but significant challenges remain." Turned what corner and for who?

Businesses are grabbing at straws & collapsing, the economy is stagnant, unemployment steadily on the rise & many more people at most levels are suffering than ever before.

It's the "death of a thousand cuts" out here with no end in sight!

SP says...

This guy is a total "Arschloch". How many years has the U.S. been drilling and pumping oil out of 175 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, and Europe out of the North Sea 173 active rigs drilling and with how many environmental disasters?

What we must insist on is whoever is responsible for an oil spill disaster is also held accountable for the cleanup regardless of cost!

Otherwise, let's get on with it already.

SP says...

Please just make sure Hubert Ingraham and Perry Christie are **NOT** involved!

Singapore transformed themselves from one of the most corrupt countries in Asia to one of the least corrupt countries in the world!

https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015…

The Bahamas needs to divest ourselves of the notion that wealthy pirates running around calling themselves "untouchable elites" in our society will never be brought to justice because they know or are big financial supporters the PLP and FNM!

Majority of Bahamians will be shocked when the biggest thieves and masters of corruption in our country are exposed from hiding behind political protectionism, gated communities, palatial mansions, and walled estates.

PM Minnis seems to be on the right track by implementing global best practice mechanisms to eradicate these pirates. Singapore did it, and we have no choice but to follow suit or watch the country further decay.
