Bahamian officials at the highest levels have proven themselves untrustworthy. The U.S. has no other choice.

How could the allegations NOT lead to a reassessment of how the U.S. engage with local law enforcement officers moving forward?

After reviewing how the entire incident unfolded on Facebook, FREE National Movement (FNM) chairman Dr Duane Sands criticism of the lack of security in Parliament has absolutely no correlation to Coalition of Independents (COI) leader Lincoln Bain’s disruption of the Opposition press conference on Wednesday!

Coalition of Independents (COI) leader Lincoln Bain’s disruption of the Opposition press conference obviously made the three opposition members "uncomfortable", however, at no time did Mr. Bain pose any threat or compromise security in Parliament.

Dr Duane Sands is obviously deliberately twisting the circumstances in order to find an excuse to silence Mr. Bain.

By doing so, the opposition is just as guilty as they claim the PM is for suspending the House and not letting them speak.

The biggest problem here is the lack of freedom of speech. The PM shut down the opposition and the opposition shut down Mr. Bain, so who will speak for the people?

Great job Mr. Bain. We know they are guilty when they use these types of tactics to duck and dodge their lack of responsibility being exposed.

They just need to make all the politicians, clergy, and law enforcement need visas. Problem solved!

SP says...

This is no surprise to anyone. The fact that the indictment began in May of 2021 preceding the time that this present PLP administration came in, also confirms that the problem is systemic across the political aisle!

Don't just blame the PLP. The FNM are just as guilty.

From days of piracy the Bahamas has always been a corrupt country. As long as we keep the two party system, the Bahamas will always remain a corrupt country.

SP says...

This "revelation" doesn't amount to a drop in the bucket of the corruption in the Bahamas!

Large scale drug smuggling and human trafficking couldn't possibly have flourished in a small country like the Bahamas for 50 years without the assistance and collaboration of corrupt politicians and law enforcement!

We seriously need to purge the House Of Assembly on both sides of the aisle.

assistant Commissioner of Police Zhivago Dames can play dumb all she wants. It is well known that calling the police for assistance is a waste of time because they **will not come!**

i don't know if the police are overwhelmed or what, but calling them for help doesn't work.

A 500 square foot difference is the same as no difference at all. What serious person would think raising the local limit for approval of applications for single story dwellings from 2500 square feet to a whooping 3000 square feet before needing approval from New Providence would encourage economic development on the Family Islands or be considered the removal of bureaucracy!

It is a waste of time fooling around with 3000 square foot structures, plus It takes forever to get approvals for anything. It's no wonder the family islands are rapidly depopulating.

The status quo are hopelessly, firmly, stuck in "stop". They obviously actually believe this 500 square feet difference and allowing the Islands to collect fees are monumental achievements.

The reality is we haven't even begun to scratch the surface on family Island development which also explains why the family islands are suffering exponential infrastructure and housing crises today.

Our country needs a proactive, progressive, government with foresight and understanding of the vital relationship that solid infrastructure has on development and meaningful growth.

The collapse of local retail businesses is imminent! Even now purchasing online makes shopping less hassle.

For local retailers to compete they would have to offer good prices with online shopping and same/next day home delivery.
