It's hard for someone to understand a problem when THEY are a part of the problem! Racism is normal to them so the "problem" doesn't exist to them.
Yesterday's verdict is not a solution in itself, but one small step in the right direction of solving a 400 year old problem that will take decades to correct the systemic racism in America. Other countries will follow suit as well, however, America is keeper of racism.
The initial police report was totally scrubbed of any wrongdoing by the cop. Had no one videotaped and witnessed Floyd's murder, it would gone as just another black man murdered by the "system". We the people caused yesterday's verdict, and we the people must continue pushing the anti racism narrative!
@ Tribanon.....Lol....Surly, you're not seriously comparing Florida and the Bahamas educational systems! Please don't go there.
There are many reasons schools here cannot be compared to those in Florida. Let's look at one simple aspect of students attending school here that makes having schools open a nonstarter during a pandemic.........**lunch break!**
Florida's schools have cafeterias where children line up to be served in an orderly, civilized fashion and social distancing is easily accomplished.
Lunch break in the Bahamas is absolute, total, pandaemonium! The kids are pushing, shoving and crammed together like crabs in a pen fighting to be served. Social distancing is **impossible**. the Perfect scenario for spreading Covid.
Secondly, if the country didn't have sufficient IT capability for home schooling, simply don't do it. Bullshyting us didn't work and was doomed to fail.......As it did!
We need to stop the bullshyt, we are not America. Just do what we can, with what we have, as best as we can. SIMPLE!!
Lloyd said "This is an issue of personal responsibility”?. As usual, commandant Lloyd is out to lunch! Since when where children charged with their own "personal responsibility"?
Covid-19 will continue spreading among children like wildfire, and they will continue bringing Covid home infecting their parents, as the number of infections continue to rise and the u.s. continue the Bahamas on the no travel list of countries which could only lead to a slow down of visitor arrivals and ultimately a downturn in the economy.
Doubling down on stupid and blaming the "science" isn't holding water anymore. Lloyd is too damn pig headed to get out of his own way!
So they put 1000's of children together and COVID miraculously exploded again across the country.
Who could have ever guessed that would have happened??
I repeatedly warned here reopening schools was a sure recipe for disaster! I told them to simply cancel school until after the Covid pandemic. I got a lot of flack here from jackass's unable to comprehend the proven fact that children were the perfect carriers of Covid, and opening schools would unquestionably lead to another wave.
Today we now find ourselves exactly where I said we'd be with another wave with the added bonus of making the U.S. no visit list of out of control Covid-19 countries!
The economy will be negatively affected AGAIN because the minister of education is too pigheaded to listen to reason and lacks the sense he was born with.
Government will never admit to yet another blatantly stupid, predictable blunder, but it's all obviously right in front of us.
Let's see what the smartass, dumb, geniuses do now. **Jackass does as jackass is!**
Wonder if this mass shooting will cause the US embassy to issue another travel warning on the Bahamas?
Trump's four years of "make America hate again" reign of dividing Americans resulted in 48 mass murders in the last 30 days, now being described as a national embarrassment by President Joe Biden.
To be fair, the US needs to issue travel warnings against themselves!

Commandant Loyd continues to play on words. The existence of any cluster of cases in the public education system is not the point.
The problem is because children are mostly asymptomatic they are infecting fellow schoolchildren, that in turn infect their parents!
Numbers will continue increasing as long as children are allowed to go to schools.
Commandant Loyd isn't fooling anyone but himself. He needs to stop his bullshyt!
