110% agree. How on Earth could they NOT consult medical professionals? That would have been the very FIRST person they should have consulted back on day one. This entire mess started as a Medical issue. The lack of intelligence from this Administration has no limits.
Well, the way we as humans are trashing and polluting this planet... some population control might not be a bad thing. I'm sure the environment, the animals, the oceans, etc would really appreciate it and start to heal itself if a sizeable portion of the human population was eliminated. Just a thought to consider!!
Yes, black people killing black people is horrible. Yes, white people killing white people is also bad. But none of those murders have anything to do with racism. Those murders are part of an entirely different problem and will require an entirely different solution. What we are referring to today and with yesterday's verdict dealt 110% with racism. Again, how hard is it not to recognize that some white cops are 110% RACIST to the core. We simply want cops to be non-biased and do their jobs with respect and equality towards all colors. Period.
It's called racism. White cop abusing his power and position over a black man. This cop had a long, long history of abusing his power -- over black citizens. And yes, you are correct about black killing black or white killing white. But that isn't RACISM related. 400 years of racism by white over black. That is the freakin point. How hard is it to understand?
Kudos for this young officer to speak out. That takes guts and is noble.
Are we not a civilized and advanced society? The overall goal of serving prison time is to be rehabilitated and reintroduced back into society after serving your punishment for breaking the law. The "punishment" is the time you spend in prison. The punishment shouldn't be living in overcrowded cells, sleeping on concrete floors, going to the bathroom in a bag, and not being allowed visits by family members -- not too mention the harassment and abuse from other guards and/or inmates.
Exactly!!! When that first ship arrives... don't even let the passengers step one foot on HI. Or, make it extremely hard for them to have a good time on HI if they do come ashore. No restaurants, no bars, no shops... nothing.
OMG! This is absolutely appalling and horrible to read. Maybe I could imagine reading something like this happening in Iran or North Korea -- but NOT the Bahamas. Are we not a civilized, progressive society and culture where we can treat all humans with dignity and respect. Two years in jail for what? It's not like they were found smuggling in drugs, or running a sex trafficking ring, or were criminals on the run from their home country. These were innocent people with the impression that the Bahamas was a civilized and safe country and maybe they could land here and start a new life and most likely contribute to society in a positive manner. Instead, get ready for a massive lawsuit. It will be the fastest and easiest court case in the history of this incompetent administration. These folks deserve millions of $$$$. And more importantly, the folks that are responsible for the 2-year delay and the folks inside the facility that most likely harassed, abused, assaulted, etc these people should be held accountable as well.
It is fantastic to see that the Chamber of Commerce on Eleuthera is 100% against the cruise ship proposal. More prominent business owners, land owners, and individuals of influence on HI and Eleuthera need to stand up and voice their opposition to this absurd idea. In fact, let's take it even further, if and when one of those ships arrives off HI -- bring out the police, the fire department, boaters, fishermen, and every able person and refuse to allow them to step one foot on HI soil (by whatever means necessary).
