There are many countries which depend on tourism affected by this executive order.

At the moment, travel is the coronavirus' best friend.

Besides, the way I read it, the executive order not stopping travel TO the Bahamas; it's placing restrictions on what people have to do when they return from any foreign country.

The correct Bahamian response is to ramp up the infrastructure to provide covid tests for people exiting the Bahamas. Make it as easy as possible to visit. Make it easier to visit than any other nation competing for the U.S. tourist dollar.

Trib, don't know if you're aware of this, but if you have a modern passport, there is a digital copy of your passport photo inside the chip in your passport.

In Europe, facial recognition has been used in airports for years. It is even used by airport marketing departments to increase revenues.

The answer to the issue of whether a Biden presidency will hurt the Bahamas because more Americans may vacation in Cuba is simple: be better at tourism than the Cubans.

The Bahamas has a head start. Being complacent about that is the enemy.

What rodentos said.

What is needed everywhere is a test where you can get a result before the arriving aircraft/vessel departs.

It's very simple folks. To stop the virus, stop communicating it. Bahamian leadership should be lobbying the U.S. to do only this. Get on the phone with Barbados, Haiti, Grand Cayman, Aruba. Form a coalition to get the U.S. to stop the virus in their homeland. Then we will be able to open up and let our American friends enjoy what we have to offer.

The regions which are doing the best have had lockdowns and post-lockdown the inhabitants strictly observe physical distancing, mask wearing, and other measures.

The regions which are doing the worst may or may not have had lockdowns, and the inhabitants do not strictly observe physical distancing, mask wearing, and other measures. The surge in cases is caused more by people's lack of self-discipline, or lack of government strict enforcement, than anything else.

It appears that in some if not most of the world, the need to socialize is stronger than the need to survive.

Until humanity can control itself, we're doomed.

Agreed. If you dig deeper, you will find that the web site you reference is a spam and scam website that intends to make it look as if antifa is something. It is run by right wing operatives.

ScullyUFO says...

Antifa is not an organization. It is not even a movement. It is just a word.

BLM is a movement. I have yet to meet a supporter who wants to loot, riot, burn, etc.

As far as your use of the terms "communist" and "fascist", simply by branding something with both terms shows you don't have a clue as to what these terms mean. But there are a lot of people who don't know what they mean, and they are afraid.

You underrate the intelligence of the average Bahamian.
