Oh yeee of little brain cells. So full of knowledge now that Halkitis said so little. You seem content that the unaccounted for $700 million is safely held in account that should not exist and is under the watchful eyes of a board that has never met. And that the people who refuse to say where the money is or how it's being invested has our collective interests at heart. The Government of transparency ducks and dodges and refuses to respond with even a semblance of intelligence. It must be so nice to care so little.
I'm truly surprised that this guy didn't have a come to Jesus moment during his speech and just say 'I can't do this no more. I can't stand up in this honorable place and shame myself and my family. We messed up, the money gone and I'm not sure where it is. Please forgive me!'
We put the money in an account for the fund, which we admit has not yet been established and so it doesn't exist but another arm of government managed some of the money so... everything is good - trust us. My LORD we got some seriously dumb people in charge of our finances. And we got the mostest stupidest voters in the country who think that these guys can be trusted.
What a strange way to admit that you didn't follow the law. We didn't break the law but we certainly didn't follow the law. Political speak for 'boy we messed up big time, as should lose our jobs or even go to jail, but we ask everyone to ignore all that because a portion of the hidden money MAY have gone towards improvements'.
*“You don't want anybody to work in an environment and people seeing them walking around with the bracelet on their feet,” Mr Cleare said.*
I disagree completely. I would prefer the parolees to have to wear a fluorescent shirt with criminal written across the front and back. And maybe a bar code that you can scan to see what crime they committed.
This is big money that is not being accounted for properly. No right thinking person would think that this lack of information and accountability is acceptable.
