When the gang leaders all showed up at the Cable Beach police station along with a bunch of religious leaders, at the request of our government leaders and law enforcement, was Duran Neely one of those participants?
Neither government plan for fighting crime has worked or will work - at least not until we face the hard reality that our current society mixed with some lousy parents just aren't capable of raising a decent human being. Good parents can raise evil children and horrible abusive parents can somehow have wonderful caring children. What we need to do as a society is to mature enough to determine when a person cannot be 'saved' and to do the hard thing and put them down. That may be after one horrible crime. It may be after a series of progressively worse crimes. But at some point many of are criminals should not be breathing.
Downtown is no longer designed for Bahamians. The shop managers and staff take the prime parking spaces which means they don't want or expect Bahamians to pop-in to their stores. They only care about foot traffic - which are tourists.
LOL. The PLP wanted to put it out West by the BPL oil slick! Just as stupid. The problem isn't the location, the problem is the low class miscreants that drive the trucks and lack of an educated police force that ensure that these trucks don't speed and leave a trail of debris behind them. the problem is us! Our society has failed and are teaching the young our bad ways. We will continue to fail until some other nation takes us over.
Why these fellas don't stay in Africa when they next visit is beyond me. They got all the money in the world (home safes are overflowing with cash and diamonds and gold nuggets). When is enough enough?
Absolutely right. So much money in the PLP right now that they may never lose another election - until of course the US makes the call and tells them that they either give it up or go to jail. I heard that's how the FNM won their first election.
Isn't FOCOL and SHELL the same thing? I'm pretty sure that when the Government refers to a deal with SHELL they aren't talking about the international company but the Bahamian incorporated company whose shareholders are unknown.
