This wouldn't be as horrible if we knew this additional revenue would go to good use - like reducing our debt. But to know that this government is only doing this in order to give more and bigger contracts to friends is insulting and offensive.
Paying more taxes does not help or improve our country.
On a positive note though, I am very happy to see the numbers criminals investing their money back into the Bahamas and creating middle to upper class housing communities and boutique hotels. BIG Kudos to them. It is VERY unfortunate that the white nights never created boutique hotels. We could have and should have several Bahamian owned boutique hotels on every major island. This would have created a solid economic base around which communities could have been built and sustained.
Let me guess... the development will only have parking for 50 cars so all of the jungless going to Fox's nightclub will be parked on the round-a-bout by Sandals and on all the medians?
Bring the ghetto to Cable Beach. Thank you. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pastor's need a whole bunch of training in so many different areas. They should start with reality training. To believe that some ancient power that created everything how many billions of years ago and that power has control over every human and animal and event is just bonkers. bonkers!!!! Looking to the clergy, our morally corrupt clergy especially, for guidance is lunacy.
How does a problem like this even come about? I mean did the fire chief not think that submerged fire engines in sea water may stop working? Did the chief bring this to someone's attention and that person told them that the Chief's concerns were crap and that the trucks didn't need extreme maintenance? Or did the Ministry of Finance tell Grand Bahama to sit small because there's no money available and the risk of a fire anywhere on the island was 0% so we won't need fire trucks until 2025? OR is everyone involved above always flying around the world with Brave so there's no-one on the ground to realize submerged fire trucks will need to be maintained?
Why would such rules extend to a church? Just thinking that makes me consider the mental astuteness of our National Security Minister. What a weird thought.
