Changing the law can't happen. Too many priests and politicians use this to stay out of jail. Any idea how many nasty, disgusting rapists we have in positions of influence and power? Mussy be plenty dem 'cause this topic always jumping the tracks.
Correction - we ALL want the very best for our once great nation. Unfortunately, year after year, administration after administration, we only get worse and worse. Evil has taken a hold of our civil service and our mediocre MP's find it easier to turn their eyes and ears to the side so as to ignore the huge problem ahead of them. At some point we're going to have to fire the thieves and liars. I would prefer to do it now because it will only get worse.
As a teenager I remember the gangs (Raiders) roaming up and down the parade route just looking for a fight. There were so many fights through the side streets (especially in the parking lot between Fidelity and Bahamas financial centre. I clearly remember about 8 boys running down 1 boy and kicking the crap out of him before turning their attention elsewhere. Witnessing an episode like that was not even a little shocking as we would just walk by and none of the bad boys even looked our way - they had their targets. This year, with all of the violent crime going on in our once beautiful country, I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if someone rushing on shirley street got shot. If someone timed the shot just right people may not even know what happened until the next guy tripped over the body. However shocking an incident like this may be I would be even more shocked if the incident described interrupted the parade for more than 30 minutes. The police would simply remove the body and the show would go on. After all Junkanoo is our one and only cultural event.
Why is PMH always in trouble financially, cosmetically and structurally? Is it poor management, year over year for the last 50 years? Is it corruption at all levels? Is it a maintenance program that is manned and managed by inadequately experienced individuals? Or it that no one involved at any level of administration gives a flying foock?
I hope that our journalists are keeping an eye out for politicians come and going out of our liquidators office. I'm sure they are getting many visits from certain people in our community trying to get their names left out of this mess. I'm sure a well know local woman is beside herself trying to figure out how to spin this away from her.

If only the PLP would follow the laws in place. Then they can start asking us citizens to do the same.
