What's wrong with forced vacation? The private sector, and banking sector in particular, do it all the time. You have the calendar year to use your annual vacation allocation. Use it or lose it. Civil servants don't want to take vacation for several reasons: 1) They get sufficient sick days and personal days so they don't need to take vacation days; 2) Upon retirement or dismissal they get paid double time for vacation days not taken so why not keep as many of them as you can 3) They have plenty of time during the day to run errands and spend time with friends that they don't need to take a vacation day here and there to get a lot of pending chores done.
Ask Birdie. She seems fine with it. I guess she doesn't contribute much to the treasury so her thinking is... it ain't my money! Meanwhile, for the rest of us, we're thinking... they spending my money on WHAT!?
Let's just look at the obvious... too many Bahamian people (both connected and regular people - but mainly connected) are benefiting from the creation of these shanty towns that nothing will ever get done - regardless of the party in power.
For some reason Tribune no longer wants us to comment on soooo many stories. Only 1 of 8 stories to opened to comment - and none of them are court matters. What happened? PLP getting upset?
Lord have mercy. You God fearing people don't even know between right and wrong. No wonder you think God is for Brave. You probably think he's going to heaven too? Lol! As a visionary... I foresee me laughing big time at the gates of hell when a whole bunch of yellow shirts come filing in with a look shock on their faces. Ignorance of the law doesn't exempt you from the law.
Why do so many people think that if this law is changed then woman will deny their husband sex? Very odd thinking to me. Is it women acknowledging that in general they don't enjoy sex with their spouse so they will simply deny it? Is it men thinking/knowing that their wives don't get any enjoyment out of their sex life and they fear the women frequently saying no? I'm a 50 year old man and want this law changed so that men can't sexually abuse and/or rape their wives.
Perhaps the mother should fly to Haiti and meet the children there? I'm pretty sure she won't be allowed back the in the US after admitting to trying to smuggle her children in.
Legalizing gambling will go down in our history as the beginning of the downfall of our society. thank you plp. and thank you FNM for not reversing the PLP's corruption in the gaming industry - I guess you expected to keep the votes and power? Fools.

It's still corruption. Using the public treasury to pay for a political trip is illegal (in most countries at least - here I guess it's the norm)!
